About Dawson

I am a graduate of Southern New Hampshire University with an MBA. I graduated with an Education and Behavioral Science major. My two primary areas of emphasis are Physical Education/ Health and Mathematics. I have had years of experience in both coaching and teaching for both high school and college age students.

About the lesson

My tutoring approach is centered around the “I Do, We Do, You Do” model. I believe students learn best when they have the opportunity to see a concept explained, practice it with guidance, and then build the confidence to tackle it independently.

First, I’ll walk through the problem or concept step by step and explain not just how to get the answer, but why the process works. Then, we’ll work through a similar problem together, where you can ask questions and I can provide guidance or correct mistakes along the way. Finally, you’ll have the opportunity to try it on your own. Once you’re finished, we’ll review your work together, talk through any mistakes, and look at easier or alternative ways to solve the problem when appropriate.

I have experience in coaching, mentoring, and management, and I enjoy helping others learn, grow, and gain confidence in their abilities. I work with K–12 students and am happy to provide support in a variety of subjects, with a particular focus on mathematics, history, and science.

My goal is to create a comfortable and encouraging environment where students feel safe asking questions and making mistakes. Everyone learns differently, and I’m happy to adjust my approach to meet each student where they are and help them make meaningful progress.
