About Gavin
I have been tutoring students for 5+ years in both chemistry and biology. I really enjoy teaching these classes and do my best to fit my tutoring to my student's needs! I can present information from your classes in different and relatable ways to help you understand the concept and better apply it to your exams. First, I will go over general concepts, then deeper into specifics, and finish with questions and practice problems based on your classes structure. I do my best to make your time and studying efficient and effective. I will always be available for last-minute test prep and questions as well! Please feel free to message me on Wyzant to see if I am a good fit for you. I have a very open schedule and am looking to add some more students.
I graduated from UC Davis with a degree in Global Disease Biology and a 3.8 GPA. I am comfortable teaching middle school, high school, and undergraduate level chemistry and biology courses and have a solid background in disease, ecology, immunology, and public health courses as well.
I try to work with students and help them develop their study and learning habits to better improve their confidence and grades. Everyone learns at a different pace and in different ways, so I do my best to be approachable and adaptable. Again, please feel free to reach out to me and I will give you supportive, straightforward, and effective tutoring to the best of my ability!
In terms of football, I have played for 10+ years. Additionally, I have been an assistant coach at my high school of graduation. I am most experienced in defense, specifically as a defensive lineman.
