About Winston
I graduated from University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee with a CS degree in 2020. I have been working in industry since 2013. Part of my job responsibilities over the years has included teaching and mentoring others (like a senior role). I also was the CS Club president at university -- nurturing CS community's passion for our field. I am very patient, understanding, and empathetic. I hope to impart some knowledge that stays with you, forever.

Hi! I believe in hands-on education. You will be put to work on small coding tasks and activities aimed to enrich you to meet your educational goals. I offer lessons in Python, JavaScript, and other languages. I offer lessons from beginner to advanced in most topics. I live and breathe this stuff. I am very flexible, and am impassioned with CS topics. If you want to learn about a more obscure topic, such as DOS, Racket, Haskell, Linux internals, REST APIs, writing C applications, I am available to work with you on those topics. Again, I will put you to work. Nothing beats hands-on experience. I will begin the initial lesson with a verbal discussion about goals and outcomes, then I will provide a tailored lesson plan, with the first lesson being based off my existing lessons. Most subsequent lessons will begin with a coding exercise, then we discuss it, afterwards we discuss new concepts, then practice them together. I look forward to growing your academic career.

Perfect! Winston is a stellar programming tutor, really insightful and good at pointing out power-user maneuvers at every turn without it feeling overwhelming. Stoked for more sessions to grasp some higher level concepts now that I'm cookin!
