About Emily
Hi, my name is Emily and I am from the US. I have a BA in English, with an emphasis on creative writing. I have worked on literary magazines, been the judge of several writing competitions, copy-edited, as well as been an English tutor for over three years. I was employed by Washington State University, in both their in-person and online campus, to tutor non-native speakers. I have tutored both children and adults in California, Colorado, New York and Washington. I am a dancer, and have over 8 years of experience in various styles. I currently work as a manager/ business administrator in the Philippines, and have worked several jobs as an executive assistant, specializing in business reports. I think taking the time to learn and grow is such an amazing thing, and I want to be there to help guide you towards the best version of you!
Side note: I love dogs, and have one named Frankie. I am just getting into kite-surfing, diving and bachata! I also love bats. See you in class!

Each student learns differently and I specifically design my courses to best benefit each individual. I think the classroom can be a very transformative place, and want to help each person grow by creating a safe space where you can ask as many questions as you want, and leave each class feeling like you really learned something. Having been an English tutor for over three years, in several states, I have interacted with a lot of different students,and because of this, I have adapted many different and unique methods in order to help you best succeed.
