About Kristen
I have always been passionate about two things, science and teaching. My reason for becoming a Biology teacher was to tie in my passion for science, my love for teaching, and do so in a way that makes learning a great experience, rather than a class to dread.

I break down complex concepts into bite size short lessons. Once the beginnings are mastered the next lesson builds. There is nothing harder than trying to learn multiple topics at once. A typical lesson plan is a short introductory activity to allow you time to warm up to the new content, lecture with notes, and an activity that ties everything together. A short assessment at the end will show areas of mastery, and things that we will work on together to make sure you are confident before we move on. All my lessons follow the NGSS Life Science standards, and are designed for freshman level students. I have experience teaching Biology to 8th grade level students up to seniors.
