About Derrell
Derrell is a Research Graduate Student in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Victoria. He works as a Research Assistant in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering where his Research focus is in exploring opportunities for computational savings in Ultrasound Phase Shift Migration and in velocity and depth correction for the Ultrasound Migration. Ultrasound Imaging is widely used for diagnosis of various types of disease and is ubiquitous in medicine today. Derrell specifically decided to contribute to Research in optimizing algorithms for Ultrasound Imaging because there aren't many researchers working on the same topic due to the complexity of the mathematical computations involved. He has previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant for Microcontrollers and Embedded Systems and as a Subject Matter Expert for Electrical Engineering. In his free time, he usually cooks, swims or goes cycling in the midst of nature.
