About Eli
I am 25 years old from Washington State. I graduated from the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma Washington in 2021 with a bachelor's in biochemistry. Before that, I attended Olympia High School from 2012 to 2016 and South Puget Sound Community College in Olympia Washington from 2016 - 2018. I swam varsity all four years of high school and did club swimming for two years during community college. I continued my swimming career in undergraduate school for three years, loving the camaraderie of being on a team and striving for excellence in a sport I love. While in college I gained teaching experience through swim instructing and tutoring a variety of subjects (mainly in the math and sciences). I am currently studying to become a Doctor of Chiropractic

I believe that the best way to learn anything is by actively engaging in the material. That's why I'll include pop-quizzes and reviews in lessons to provide students with active recall exercises that will help solidify knowledge gained from previous lessons. I will also allow time during each lesson to give feedback on problems or concepts that student's are struggling and answer any questions students may have to the best of my ability. From my days in calculus and organic chemistry, I've learned that it is okay to struggle to find the right solution to a problem because it is in the act of critical thinking between student and tutor/teacher that the real learning happens.
