I graduated from UC Davis with a Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing. I have been teaching all my life. From the kids at the pre-school my mom worked at, to the friends who always asked for my help.

About Justin
My love for writing began when I was 8 years old. The year was 2008, and in May I watched the first Iron Man movie, and two months later I saw The Dark Knight. In that year I also saw Wall-E, The Boy in The Striped Pajamas, and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.
I began to realize the immense capabilities of something as simple as a story. It can tug at your heart, or warm it. It can shatter you, and build you up. It can lose you, then catch you at the end. However, beneath it all is the capture of the audiences emotion.
Soon after this realization I had another one. I didn’t want to make movies, I wanted to make stories. Soon after I wrote my first terrible book, went back to the drawing board, and began to dive into books.
“Save The Cat” by Blake Snyder, “Adventures in the Screen Trade” by William Goldman, “On Writing” by Stephen King, “Stein on Writing” by Sol Stein, “Dialogue” by Robert McGee. Then I decided to write again, and all through college I worked on perfecting every aspect of my writing; like an itch I could never scratch. To this day, it seems too elusive to grasp, but as a writer I would die trying.

Whether you are struggling to get through a creative writing class, struggling to comprehend a piece of literature, or tackling your first novel, I will be able to offer solutions to problems you are facing.
I also think my job is to give you the tools and skills to succeed without me. So, if I do my job well, the hope is you will have a nice tool belt of solutions to turn to when you feel lost or unmotivated.
