I like to start off by asking the student about any recent assignments or notes that he/she would like some additional help on. I would then go step by step on how to complete a problem. In each step, I explain the exact reason how/why I did what I did. I would help them complete the assignment. If the concept is not yet understood, I would create new problems using that same concept.
These lessons are for highschoolers and anyone else who are at a lower grade level.
