About Calista
I currently am working as a science teacher, while getting my masters in Biological Science Education. I went this route after working in the hospital for a couple years and determining that patient care was not my passion but understanding the processes going on within each person was. I have enjoyed every second of my teaching career, and I hope my passion for science is evident when I tutor you!

I often tailor my tutoring to each student, but overall I find that allowing for asking questions by the both of us is what promotes the most growth and understanding. For example, I might go through some material, and then midway ask questions that require deeper thought and understanding about the information, this allows me to gauge where the learner is at in their comprehension. I also often use different methods of presenting the material to appeal to every type of learner, but I often find drawing pictures together can make large concepts more manageable.
