Are you looking for guitar lessons for yourself or your child? Our guitar learning programme offers so much more than just normal lessons and our aim is to help you achieve the results you want, fast, while having lots of fun in the process.
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
We specialise in teaching rock/pop guitar styles, using the G4 Guitar Method, which is structured, fun & easy-to-follow (perfetc for young kids & beginners). We do not teach classical guitar (although music reading & theory is included as part of the G4 Method), but do teach rock/pop guitar to students who play acoustic or classical guitars.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
Our teachers are experienced and trained in teaching the G4 Guitar Method. My personal qualifications: BA (hons) Popular Music Studies from the University of Leeds, BTEC National Diploma in Performing Arts from the BRIT School in Croydon, various teaching courses from local authorities and specialist organisations
- How much do you charge?
We are currently offering a free taster lesson (online) to all prospective students, with no obligation to continue. All lesson package includes added extras that set us apart from the average guitar teacher, which will be of huge benefit to your playing. Because of this, we do not charge an "hourly rate" as such. Our main lesson programme is £79 per month. For more info on this, please visit our website.
- Where do you teach?
We are currently teaching online only and reviewing options to re-start face to face lessons and events in and around Croydon once it is safe to do so.
- When are you available?
We teach Tuesdays-Thursdays 2pm-9pm and Saturdays 9.30am-5pm.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
We teach children as young as 4 right through to retired adults. Our method is designed to take all students from complete beginner to becoming confident, successful guitar players with a love and understanding of music in general.
- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
The G4 Guitar Method is made up of a system of levels & checklists, which is great for keeping track of your progress. It is also an ideal way to prepare students for grades including Rockschool and Trinity Rock & Pop.
- Do you have a personal message for students?
We really try to place an emphasis on learning for fun in our lessons. It's our aim to get you playing the styles of music you enjoy as soon as possible. That said, we know that having a good foundation in scales, exercises and music theory is essential to becoming an all-round musician & if you want to learn to play your favourite songs, you will first need these basic skills in place.
- What kind of experience do you have?
I have over 15 years teaching experience and have worked for Wandsworth Music Service, SCOLA in Sutton, Richmond Childminding Service and Sound Connections teaching and running music workshops for children of all ages. I've been playing guitar, bass & singing for well over 30 years in bands too numerous to mention. You can read more about my background and credentials in my downloads section.
- Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?
- Do you belong to any professional organisations?
The G4 Guitar Network, Music Leader, Musicians Union
- Tell me about some of your current students.
Currently we have students of all ages working through the levels of the G4 Guitar Method & making great progress as a result! Others are studying for Rockschool or Trinity Rock & Pop grades while others still are using their skills as tools to play songs they enjoy and collaborating with others. We put on regular performances for our students, which are always very well received , and run extra events on related topics such as songwriting and transcribing as well as workshops and jam classes.

I have been teaching guitar for over 15 years and have 30+ years playing experience.
We are a G4 Guitar school and use the G4 Guitar Method to help our students become better players and play their favourite songs in less time.
Our aim is to create a community of guitar players who love music as much as we do.
Thanks for teaching me guitar – you've been great.
We are grateful to you for teaching our daughter. Joanne is really enjoying her guitar lessons. Many thanks
Vicki's teaching/mentoring is superb. I really look forward to my guitar lesson each week. I love each lesson, and therefore I love playing guitar. I can't think of anyone who wouldn't enjoy Vicki's lessons.”
Jamal and Rafick are really enjoying their lessons. Jamal has improved his ukulele playing significantly and has become confident in his skills and abilities to read music. Rafick has learnt an enormous amount through Vicki's patient approach and she has encouraged him at every opportunity. As parents, we would recommend Vicki to any child wishing to learn or expand on his or her music experience.
Thank you for inspiring Eloise with her guitar – she plays it nearly every night and spends hours looking up guitar chords/music online and playing it
I was a complete beginner on guitar and I wanted the challenge of learning a new, and completely different instrument. I am so pleased I decided to take lessons with Vicki. I had barely strummed a guitar before within a few weeks I could strum along to a song or two. 8 months on I am astonished at just how well I have progressed. I would highly recommend lessons with Vicki – her passion for music and the guitar is obvious and infectious – I can't wait to pick up my guitar and play! Thank you Vicki
My daughter always looks forward to her lessons with Vicki. She finds Vicki to be a fun teacher and always listens to her pupil's request to play something different. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Vicki to our friends
Thank you for everything you've done for us, you're an amazing guitar teacher! We love you!
Thank you for teaching me, I really enjoyed it. You really got me into playing guitar.
Thanks for all your hard work in teaching me guitar! I don't know what I would've done without you!
