Hi, I’m Ella, a Health Sciences student with a strong academic background and a passion for helping students build confidence in biology. I tutor middle school and high school biology students, and I aim to make lessons clear, engaging, and tailored to each student’s needs.
My teaching methodology and techniques
My teaching approach is patient, encouraging, and interactive. I focus on breaking down complex biology concepts into simple, understandable steps, then reinforcing learning through examples, diagrams, practice questions, and review. I adapt my teaching style based on the student’s pace and learning preferences, whether they need help understanding core concepts, preparing for tests, or improving study habits.
A typical lesson plan
A typical lesson begins with a quick review of previous material and any questions the student may have. From there, we work through a new topic together in a structured way, using explanations, visuals, and guided practice. I like to include short check-ins throughout the lesson to make sure the student is following, and I usually end with a summary, key takeaways, and practice questions to strengthen understanding.
