About Catherine
I am a High School English teacher with six years of teaching experience covering all grade levels 9-12. I have an Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Williams College and a Master of Arts Degree in English from Westfield State University. I have studied and taught a wide-range of genres, including British Literature, American Literature, poetry, science fiction, African-American literature, Native American literature, along with several more. I also love to teach writing, including critical analysis essays, argumentative essays, and research papers.

I first approach each topic by assessing what my student(s) already know on the subject, and what they are most interested in learning about it. From there, I pick two or three specific areas of focus to tackle first, and once those have been mastered, move on to other important areas not yet addressed. I do like to allow my students the freedom to direct a portion of the time to their interests as I make sure all important parts are covered.
