About Kayla
My name is Kayla and I am a freshman at Temple University. I am currently majoring in psychology and will be minoring in marketing. I am originally from New York City but now live in Philadelphia. In high school, I have taken many honors and AP classes specifically English, math, and psychology. I was in the national honors society and was in the top 5% of my graduating class. Since then I have started studying at Temple University and during the summers I work with Columbia University's Herbert Irving Medical Center doing cancer research and research related to my major. I am excited to meet you all!

I start by assessing the student's mathematical abilities with a basic assessment that covers a little bit of everything about the subject. From the assessment, I will be able to see what the student already knows and skills they need to improve. I will talk with the child and/or parent to review things they seem to be proficient on and topics we will need to spend more time with. I will ask if there is anything else they would like them to learn, if there are any learning circumstances I should know about, and then implement a plan. My lesson plan is intended for elementary school level math until high school statistics.
