About Trace
Class of 2022 at Oskaloosa High School. Currently enrolled in College Trigonometry, College Public Speaking, College Literature, and College Biology as dual-credit courses through Highland and Pitt State. Member of the National Honors Society and active in the Gifted program striving for the Congressional Award. I was successful in teaching my sister (age 5 and 7) to successfully add, subtract, multiply, and divide through breaking it down in a way that was most fitting for them to understand. In my free time between classwork, I'll often visit the math room and meet with the freshmen, sophomores, even juniors and seniors to help them have a better grasp on the lesson.

I focus on being extremely interactive with students, making sure that they understand the concepts of the subject we're working on. The problem with most classrooms is that the education system fails to recognize the neurodiversity of the students brains and that everyone learns best in different ways. I like to get a great understanding of my students and what they struggle with so that I may break down the curriculum into sections that are built around helping them understand the subject matter. It's disappointing to see most teachers blandly reading from the textbook and moving on, leaving most students in the dust and often confused. My teaching style aims to counteract this issue and help students stay on track based on their specific needs and skills.
