About Cristine
"Vedic math techniques and mental math strategies serve as the foundation for my approach to arithmetic and number sense. Watching a student finally map out a complex word problem brings me back to my own early days as a first-generation university student navigating difficult concepts. I hold an MSc Applied Mathematics from the University of Toronto and possess Ontario College of Teachers certification for my work with Grade 11 and 12 learners.
Calculus and competition math prep remain core areas where I assist students tackling the rigors of IB HL or SL and AP Calc. Problem-solving strategies for mensuration and exam preparation occupy much of our time together during our regular homework help hours. These methods become clear as we work through the logic together, making the transition to higher mathematics seem quite natural."
