About Lindsey
I have always had a passion for not only math, but helping others. As a teacher, I believe that it is important to recognize that every student learns differently and has a unique aspect of learning that they will bring into the classroom. With helping others comes acceptance of various teaching methods and open mindedness regarding all unique individuals. This promotes diverse thinking and openness within not only the classroom, but it helps bring together the community. Learning math and teaching math requires both the students and the teacher to take on a proactive role within the classroom. This includes fostering stimulating critical thinking and analytical thinking, problem solving, quantitative reasoning, and mathematical communication in the classroom setting. I am fully devoted to giving my students the necessary tools to not only be effective analyzers of math content, but to also strive for greatness in all that they do.

My philosophy is based on a cumulation of my experiences as a student, a tutor, and a teacher. As a student, I noticed that the teachers that were an inspiration to me all had common
traits: strong communicators, student orientated instructors, and creators of engaging and relevant content. Throughout my years as a tutor, I became fully devoted to incorporating these
traits into my teaching methodology. I began my journey as a math tutor by tutoring homeschooled students, many of which have never stepped foot inside of a classroom. It became
my job to provide these students with a positive classroom environment that would guide them into their understanding of the content matter. There is so much to be rewarded with as teachers,and I truly recognized this during my time as a tutor. As I began teaching in my own classroom I built upon
these traits and became fully devoted to giving my students all of the necessary tools they need to be successful in not only their math courses, but each of their individual lives beyond the
classroom. Having individual connections with the students welcomes each student and their unique variety of learning styles into the classroom environment－which I think is extremely important. What I want most of all out of myself and my students is for them to leave my classroom not only with a positive understanding for math, but also with confidence in their knowledge and their education.
