About Hailey
I am 17 years old and I pride myself on being an excellent student. I have always been an Honor Roll student and I enjoy learning new things. I take an extra effort to ask questions and talk with my teachers when I need help. I love collaborating with other students and being a part of the DHS community. I am involved in two clubs at Durango High School and I am also taking two AP classes this year. High School is a hard time in life and it can be difficult to stay caught up. I am here to help explain topics I am familiar with in different ways to help make them easier to understand, as well as offer constructive criticism on areas of possible growth. I also enjoy art as a personal hobby and I like to ski in the winter. My favorite mediums are acrylic painting and fashion design.

The 2022-23 school year, I was awarded Math 2 student of the year because of my ability to ask questions and seek out more knowledge. Math is my best subject and as a Junior at Durango High School, and I currently have a 98.55% in Mathematics 3. Additionally, I help teach my younger sister Math 1 when she is struggling to understand it, so I am fully capable of teaching the subject. I also can help with the subject of English Language Arts and edit essays. I am familiar with English grammar as well. I have taken Honors Language Arts both my Freshman and Sophomore years of High School and this year I am taking AP English and Composition. Math and Language Arts are my two best subjects in High School and I am confident in my ability to teach either as well as offer constructive feedback and build a positive learning space.
