About Srinika
Hi! I'm a high school student who loves working with youth! I have lots of experience with teaching kids from a non-profit I volunteer at in which I teach foreign students. This activity has taught me many essentials about working with students of different ages while allowing for me to gain critical abilities needed to help foster important skills in youth. Although I take advanced math courses and compete on my school's Mathletes team, I didn't always like math, allowing me to empathize with students who, just like me, hated math, and helping me understand what they struggle with. Math is often given the persona of being overly challenging due to being taught poorly to students, which is why I use my age to my advantage and teach in a style that allows younger students to understand the concept through easy-to-comprehend explanations featuring memory tricks/shortcuts alongside lots of practice. :)

Uses young age and thorough understanding of math concepts taught in elementary school and middle school to empathize with younger students, understanding their comprehension level and how to help them fully understand the material. Allows for a healthy learning environment while nurturing a growth mindset in students and building their confidence. A typical lesson plan includes a "warm up" (review from the previous tutoring session), a simple exercise from the new lesson that introduces the new concept to the student, a conceptual overview gently immersing the student in new information, exercises/exemplary problems allowing the student to further comprehend the lesson, and an end-of-lesson review. Pauses, breaks, and spaces for questions are incorporated into the session, ensuring that the student does not feel overwhelmed. Tests/quizzes will be included to assess the student's mastery of skills and concepts taught, future lesson plans will depend on the student's scores to strengthen areas they need help in. Lessons are for students in elementary and middle school who need help understanding what their regular teachers are teaching them and/or completing their homework assigned at school, students who need extra practice with a helpful resource present to answer questions, and students who are excelling in their classes and want to learn advanced material at the pace of their regular school teacher.
