About Ying

When I get positive feedback from my students, and see their progress and improvement. As a teacher, I like to see the power of encouragement and the teaching methods suit the individuals. And when students are getting more ideas about music, I will get a sense of achievement.

About the lesson

As for my piano teaching, I teach students either for their personal interests or professional needs. I have been teaching how to play the piano for over 8 years and also was a full-time piano teacher in a music training school for 3 years. Online lessons are given from 30 mins to 1 hour, which is much more flexible than face-to-face lessons, as the latter one I would usually give 1 hour. Building up the proper habit of playing and increasing the musical expression are the core parts of my lessons. Apart from classical music, recently I would like to teach and share pop Chinese music (piano version) to grow learners’ interests, for music amateurs. Besides my teaching career, I was also active in piano accompaniment on various stages and collaborated with other musicians. I like to teach students from young beginners to adults.

My daughter has been studying piano with Ying for two years. I think she's become more interested in practicing on the piano. She can now sit at the piano for an hour a day with greater concentration and pays attention to musical notation. I can see the improvement in her playing since these past few years, which makes me really happy.

As a piano teacher, Ying shows her profession of pianism and her attitude toward teaching. Her lessons have given me excellent advice regarding musical backgrounds, composition itself, and musical expressions. And unreservedly brilliant playing during classes impressed me the most.

Ying's journey of musical exploration has never ended, she's now doing a PhD at Trinity College London, which provided a great opportunity for her to continue to research music. I sincerely recommend piano learners who are eager to find a gorgeous piano teacher to get the chance to have lessons with Ying.
