About Martin
Teaching history, for me, is not a job as much as a way to help you understand the world around you. I have a Master's degree in History as well as a Doctorate in Education which helps me not only understand the material but through these credentials I have taught hundreds of students in history over the years and thoroughly enjoyed the subject. I believe history can be fascinating, and I try to make the subject relevant and captivating.

My basic teaching method is to start by finding out what you are required to know, and then working with you in how you can best understand the material. I look at the key points in your lessons and help you to focus on what's important and relevant.
I try to continuously help you to understand the material, not give you a list of memorized facts. I have learned over my teaching career that each student has a unique way of learning and I believe that it is important to learning the material
I also particularly will keep you focused on what is important to your class requirements, so I particularly try to understand what your teacher is asking of you as well as helping you understand the content. We will work slowly and carefully to ensure that you are comfortable with the material. We will keep checking periodically to be sure you know the content and are very confident in being able to understand what you are required to respond to for your class.
