About Yashu
As the first Marshallese individual to graduate with a degree in Mathematics, I am passionate about sharing my knowledge and inspiring others, especially students from diverse backgrounds. My parents, immigrants from the Marshall Islands, instilled in me the values of hard work and perseverance, which I now bring to my tutoring sessions.

My tutoring approach is fun, yet structured, designed to ensure a deep and lasting understanding of the material. I begin each session by reviewing the lesson's key concepts to build a strong foundation. We then work through a series of practice problems to reinforce these concepts and develop problem-solving skills. After that, we tackle actual homework or quiz problems, applying the knowledge gained in a practical context. This methodical approach helps to clarify any doubts and solidifies the student's understanding.
Repetition and practice are at the core of my teaching philosophy, as I believe they are crucial for making mathematical concepts second nature to students. My goal is to create a supportive and encouraging learning environment where students feel confident to ask questions and explore new ideas. Together, we will work towards achieving your academic goals and developing a genuine appreciation for mathematics.
