About Makenzie
I am a college student who is currently studying to become a special education teacher. Through my time in high school, I tutored kids in junior high. I was an honors student then and am currently in the Honors College at the University of Oklahoma.

I approach teaching by first assessing what the student already knows so I avoid giving them information they are already proficient in. After I have found where the student needs help, I find creative ways to get the information to stick with them, such as graphics or the occasional goofy song to ensure that they don't forget what they've learned. I try to let them solve their problems with my aid rather than telling them outright so they will remember the steps they took to find the answer.
