About Reitumetse
I am a second-year student at Rhodes University. My Majors are Journalism and English, and my electives are linguistics and philosophy. I take academics extremely seriously, which can be seen in my work ethic. I achieved three distinctions out of my four subjects in my first year. As an aspiring journalist, I have a love for creative writing and almost anything in the English field. After high school, I took a gap year and gained some experience as a tutor. As a university student with more knowledge and experience, I would like to return to this field and help students as much as I can. Hopefully, I can inspire the same passion for English in you!

My approach to teaching is interactive. I am willing to assist with homework. I will also help with anything you are struggling with by explaining concepts you might struggle to understand. We will make study notes and I will assess your understanding after teaching. My lessons are offered in English. I am fluent in the language. I would like my students to interact with me. I am not going to tell you what to do, but rather assist you. I would like you to tell me what you would like to focus on, whether it be homework, revision of a section you are struggling with, exam, test prep. I will require this information beforehand so I can prepare accordingly and assist you to the best of my ability. Lessons will begin with a discussion and a written practical work will usually follow. My lessons are aimed at students from Grade 1 to 12 and first-year university students.

During 2019 and 2020 Reitumetse was a full-time private tutor for Khumo, then a Grade 3 learner. She assisted Khumo with all his subjects and helped with his homework. At the time that Reitumetse started working with Khumo, his confidence and focus improved drastically, while he also displayed greater enjoyment of his studies. From a struggling learner, Khumo's marks shot up to 60's, as he caught up with his grade average, and in certain instances even exceeding this benchmark. Reitumetse's dedication and commitment to Khumo's learning journey has proven valuable. Her nurturing qualities as a patient and kind tutor certainly stands her in good stead.
