About Hamza
Hi! I’m a Math and Computer Science graduate from Imperial College London with a strong interest in logical thinking and problem solving.
During university I often helped classmates and friends work through math topics they were stuck on, which is what led me to start tutoring.
A few things about me:
- I enjoy breaking complex ideas into simple steps
- I focus on helping students understand the reasoning, not just memorize methods
- I like puzzles and activities involving patterns and logical thinking
- I solve Rubik’s Cubes blindfolded
- I’m currently learning Mandarin Chinese

My goal is to help students really understand what’s going on in a problem, rather than just memorising a set of steps.
In lessons we typically:
- Work through problems step by step
- Talk through why each step works
- Identify where confusion starts to appear
- Practise similar questions until the method feels natural
I’m happy to help with:
- Homework support
- Exam preparation
- Improving overall confidence in maths
I teach core school topics including (but not limited to):
- Calculus
- Algebra
- Geometry
- Trigonometry
and can support students preparing for GCSE, IB, A-Level and other school maths exams.

I’ve studied with Hamza during my undergrad Imperial. He is a very kind person to work with and he explains in an intuitive and concise way, making it easy to understand him. He’s also been very reliable and understands things easily himself. So I would highly recommend him as a Superprof.
Hamza and I studied together at Imperial College London, one of the best universities in the world. Throughout our time there, he never ceased to impress me with his breadth of knowledge and depth of understanding. Hamza studied Joint Maths and Computing, famously one of the most competitive and difficult degrees at Imperial, and learnt a great deal about programming languages, pure and applied mathematics, machine learning, and everything in between. He has a great ability to distil complicated concepts down to the fundamentals and tailors every explanation to his audience in a way that really helps them build their understanding from the ground up, tapping into his mastery over his craft to approach the material from a variety of perspectives until he finds the one that clicks best. Besides his impressive qualifications, Hamza is a competitive speed-cuber, a great tennis player, a polyglot, and something of a world traveller. He also had this uncanny ability at university to remain cool as a cucumber even when the rest of us were as stressed as could be. Trust me: you could learn a lot from Hamza! I know I have.
I’ve worked with Hamza for nearly a decade now, and I can say that without a doubt that he is one of the most knowledgeable and patient people that I’ve ever met. Even in my career as a software engineer at Microsoft, I find myself reaching out to Hamza once in a while when I face complicated mathematical issues. His ability to abstract difficult-to-grasp concepts is incredible, and I could not recommend him more.
He's such a great teacher! I had the chance to be tutored by Hamza in Maths, and I can't stress enough how patient and caring he was. He always approaches problems in very interesting ways, such that he builds intuition and inspires confidence for similar problems. He also has a very good understanding of the material, which certainly helped him clarify problems for me whenever they got confusing for me to understand.
