About Nathan
I just finished a PhD in philosophy of physics at the University of Western Ontario. I have a bachelors degree in physics, with second major in biology, as well as a bachelors in philosophy. Both of these are from Acadia University. I also spent a year doing graduate studies in particle physics at the University of Toronto before switching to philosophy.
I have three years of experience working as a teaching assistant for first to third year physics courses. One year of experience as a lab instructor for first year university physics. One year of experience tutoring second year multivariable calculus. Four years of experience working as a teaching assistant for first and second year philosophy courses.

I prefer to use the Socratic method when possible. This method involves asking leading questions to get students to make connections between pieces of information they already know. In the ideal case this amounts to providing sign posts that lead the student to discover an answer based on what they already know.
A typical tutoring session in philosophy would involve me helping you to understand course material. A session in philosophical logical would be more focused on problem solving.
I'm happy to tutor philosophy at any level and philosophical logic at an introductory university level (first or second year level).

Nathan has the ability to put complex ideas in simple words and find familiar examples so you can relate with the information he is providing. I think that this ability comes from his profound knowledge on the topics he teaches. I therefore highly recommend Nathan as a tutor.
With vast knowledge across several fields and over a decade of experience in academia, Nathan explains concepts in a clear and concise manner. Whether you need a little help with your course work or inspiration for an open-ended problem. Nathan the person for the job.
