My teaching method is tailored to the specific needs and capabilities of the student, I focus particularly on active earning techniques. I prefer to give the student space to identify areas of interest in a text before we tackle the intricacies together. Learning is much more fun and engaging with this type of approach.
Lessons encompass different skills according to the syllabus of the exam or the goal of the individual student. I try to vary the topic and skill each week to ensure lessons remain interesting and relevant.
I work with school students of all ages, primarily those studying GCSE and A Level English, although I am open to assisting anyone achieve their goal.
I also work with students who are learning English as a second language.
I have a degree in English and French. As part of my degree I taught English in a French high-school in Normandy, working primarily with 15-18 year old students preparing for their final qualification in English (A level equivalent). I provided support with spelling, grammar and stylistic features of texts as part of my job, teaching both full classes and tutoring one-to-one.

English and French: Predicted 2:1
Hannah and I are coursemates at the University of Nottingham.
Hannah is a very hardworking, supportive, and intelligent individual. She excels at understanding and speaking French due to her time in Rouen on her year abroad and several years of studying it at an undergraduate level.
Similarly, her understanding of English literature is profound due to her research for her dissertation on Gothic fiction. Over the course of her degree, she has read a wide variety of different genres.
I believe she would make an excellent tutor in French and English.
Hannah is a really kind and patient tutor. She’s great at explaining and I’d highly recommend!
