About Jose Ignacio
Im a web developer, UX designer and musician with over 20 years of experience at the intersection of digital design, code, and music. My background includes degrees from NYU's ITP (Interactive Telecommunications Program) and Berklee College of Music. Over the last few years, as the tech landscape has shifted, I have actively translated my own frontend development and design workflows into modern AI orchestration tools. As an educator—including long-term experience teaching STEAM concepts in New York City with Vision Media—I realized that strict syntax memorization is becoming obsolete. Instead, the real superpower today is understanding systemic logic. My class focuses entirely on this modern shift: transitioning the core structural logic of coding into an understanding of how AI engines process data, utilizing live music creation as our sandbox.

In the era of modern AI tools, memorizing every single comma and semicolon is no longer the metric of a great developer—knowing how to architect systemic logic is. Drawing from my 20+ years of industry experience as a web developer, UX designer and musician, I have completely reframed how we approach software education. Rather than forcing a one-size-fits-all tool, I guide students through a highly curated ecosystem of creative, music-centric coding environments. Depending on the student's unique experience level and technical goals, we utilize a specialized suite of tools including Scratch, Pencil Code, TunePad, Trinket, Strudel, and Sonic Pi. By using these platforms as our digital testing grounds, we turn abstract engineering logic into a vibrant, hands-on creative process of making music. Students learn exactly how software engines process data, run multi-threaded tasks, and manage data collections, giving them an intuitive understanding of how modern generative AI frameworks think.
