My teaching method would be based on how you learn best, not everyone learns in the same way so it's about what works best for you. A lot of the time it can be best to take things back to basic knowledge and work out exactly what it is you don't understand. I'm very patient and I'll go over things as many times as needed in as many different ways until it's understood.
I am a Science Tutor and can teach all the way up to A-Level for Biology. I am able to teach to KS4 (GCSE) for Chemistry and Physics. I like to ensure that all my lessons have a good structure and are full of varied tasks to keep the mind engaged.
This will be my first time doing professional tutoring but I am confident I will be able to help and provide excellent teaching. I will tailor my style individually to each student as everyone learns differently. I am kind and patient and will be happy to tutor students of all abilities.
Due to my previous teaching experiences, I wish to teach to learners ranging from level 2 through to degree level in biological sciences, human physiology, human anatomy, microbiology, biomedical sciences, criminal investigation, biological anthropology, human osteology or forensic science techniques.
I teach in an engaging and friendly manner, asking questions and guiding students towards understanding, working more as a peer than a traditional teacher. I produce high quality powerpoint presentations as learning aids, and am not afraid to explain concepts multiple times.
I find the best results are obtained by progressive interaction between tutor and student - the best retention of knowledge and understanding occurs when the student can convey the subject matter back to the tutor in their own style and words (with help and prompting when necessary).
I have worked in secondary schools since 2006 following several years in the primary sector. I have taught science to Key Stage 3 and 4 students following several different curriculum outlines. I have been through training in preparation for the curriculum recently introduced and have delivered exam preparation for both GCSE and BTEC courses.
I can adapt my teaching methods to suit you and have many resources from power point presentations to worksheets and research based tasks. I can help you to identify how you learn best and can also offer general revision techniques which will help across all subjects.

I have no set method of teaching as I realise all pupils are unique and as such have differing needs and must be challenged in different ways. We will discuss what works best for you as an individual and using the information you provide we will create a learning environment which suits you.
My teaching is holistic as is my own study approach based upon learning styles and abilities . Although Curriculum plays a part to ensure structure and policy guidance I encourage self reflection and suggestions from the learner as to how they prefer sessions to try and give a positive experience .
Result oriented quality teaching with logical methods which will give students easy access and ideas towards their topics

Hi I'm Jess and I'm studying Biomedical Science at the University of Sheffield. I've been tutoring for several years now and I always ensure my lessons are interactive, tailored to the student's personal learning style and are most importantly, enjoyable.
I like to approach a subject at a very basic level first of all, using analogies to help students understand the general ideas of a concept. Once basic understanding is achieved, I introduce the details using visual aides such as diagrams.
My own learning method is not about memorisation, but about understanding the problem and systems as a whole. I believe this leads to true understanding. I approach my teaching in much the same method; if you have a rounded understanding, anything which is forgotten can be worked out.

Hello! I am happy to tutor students in scientific areas and concepts of any size or level at A-level and below - please don't be shy! Each session will start with a discussion of what the tutee want to achieve, before working from there.
I maintain that to do well overall, the ins and outs of a process must be understood in detail (or at least appreciated). To do this one must methodically break down why a process is happening, what the grand purpose of the process is, and how that process relates to other aspects and concepts learnt.
If you need help with understanding a specific topic, or help revising before upcoming exams I am here! It would be useful to know what area you need help in so I can prepare beforehand, and for you to bring some of the resources you were given at school so that we can go through them together.
I like to offer visual and auditory help, and discuss and question rather than lecture. I also love colour and coding different terms for consolidating memory. I take a really hands on approach as I know learning biology can be hard sometimes.
I prefer one-to-one tutoring sessions, going through principles and talking through past-exam questions.
I believe in inspiring students with a deep understanding of the subject and bringing Biology to life with examples they can relate to and associate with real life. I know the AQA GCSE and AS Biology specifications inside out and have also taught iGCSE and Edexcel GCSE Biology.
Hello! I'm a postgraduate student at the University of Sheffield, studying for an MRes in Ecology and Environment, while working occasionally for a local conservation charity and environmental consultancy.
As I am a university student I teach to anyone doing A Levels and below. I tend to be approach teaching in a very co-operative sort of way. What this entails is that I will be very engaging with the student to try and help them learn and understand by means of exercises to perform and tasks to do. I will arrange my lessons depending on the level to which I am teaching (A-levels, GCSE and below.
