I have a very practical approach to teaching languages as I believe that theoretical learning (whilst being a fundamental necessity) can only take one so far. I try to familiarise my tutees not only with the language itself but also with the culture to insure a broad and clear comprehension.
In terms of teaching method, I am comfortable either following books and pre-made resources or creating my own. When teaching latin I used a range of interactive resources, like games and creative activities, in order to engage the students. When helping older students I find essay marking/comparison/improvement whilst engaging with marking criteria is constructive.
My teaching method is as follows: 1. Identifying areas of weakness. 2. Going through the theory of a topic. 3. Going through a couple practice questions together with a student. 4. Allowing student to do some questions on their own, giving help if need be. 5. Giving extra questions for homework that are still a weakness.
My teaching methodology can differentiate in a number of ways: how the student access content, the types of activities students do to master a concept, what the end product of learning looks like and what assessment students need to pass. Also, I always take into consideration the learning needs of the student and age.
I explain the recipe face to face or online. Plus I can cook with you and describe step by step the recipe alive. I can provide in the end of the lesson a list of all ingredients required and suggest dairy free options.
My teaching method is completely tailored to the people that I am teaching! I normally start by assessing what you are struggling with, be this complicated concepts, general understanding or memorising facts and figures, and tailoring lessons to suit you from there. This can include talking through topics and concepts, teaching techniques to help with organisation and memory and other methods.
My teaching method depends on the student and I am easily adaptable to the best way a particular student learns.
Initially I identify my student’s strengths and weaknesses, assess where assistance is required and work with them to achieve our set goals. I approach lessons following an ‘I Do, We Do and You Do’ approach. So I show my students how to do the task, then we do it together and finally the student does it on his/her own.
I like to teach around the students. E.g their hobbies and interests, and also how they learn: games, reading, listening etc. I start by figuring out what they do or don't know and build a lesson surrounding that, then build their knowledge.
I like to see how the students learn: through activities, reading etc. I base my classes on games and helping with any topics the student struggles with, I find it best to see what needs focusing on at the start of the lesson.
Before our first session I will ask for two or three areas to focus on so that I can prepare some materials tailored around the needs of the student. This will be aimed at offering different perspectives on the historical events, political processes or set texts to help the student orientate themselves within a debate and to encourage critical thinking.
I am a specialist in assisting students on admission to American universities. I can help students study for SATs, ACTs, determine which colleges are right for their interests and future careers, approach the Common App and supplemental essays, and assist in the overall application process including grants and scholarships.
My teaching method is to go through different topics methodically and with steps, paying particular attention to those that the student struggles with, so that the way to do them sticks in their head come exam time. I also find worked examples particularly effective.
Have you forgotten your English? Know how to read and write, but afraid to speak...? Looking for the opportunity to speak English more frequently? Hello! I can help you to improve your English. The sessions concentrate on the practical use of the language, conversation and pronunciation.
I am very friendly but also proactive in making sure I have helped the students as much as I can. I encourage students to ask questions and make myself available to answer them. I value theory as much as practical exercises and do a good balance of both.
My method is based on communiction development. Firstly a topic based on daily routine is introduced in order to develop a conversation about it. Then a text related to de topic is introduced in order to work on reading skills and vacabulary and finally grammar structures is developed.
My teaching method is based on Cambridge focusing on the 4 elements, speaking, listening, writng and reading. In my classes I use tools such as, computer, songs, films. I approach topics using my pupils daily routines in order to develop my students language skills and comprehension.
I tend to gauge the knowledge of each student and tailor my teaching approach accordingly to ensure that it is able to help the student learn in a manner which is not only thorough and engaging, but also fun. The aim is to create a strong foundation upon which a student can build their knowledge further.
I have a content based approach where I aim to pick up on areas of weakness and strengthen them by breaking things down and then working through questions. With GSCE students I aim to follow their specification in order to tailor their learning and attain highest grades possible.
I teach traditional Hatha Yoga incorporating a balance of breath focus, asana, and relaxation, built around the classical Sivananda format
My teaching methodology varies with each student. Initially, I test the students to measure their capabilities, discuss their learning outcomes and gauging which teaching method is most effective. For this, I prefer to teach students individually. I study their school curriculum, if applicable, making sure to bolster their learning alongside this.
I love to help people learn how to understand how to analyse and understand what writers are trying to achieve.Equally I want to help students express themselves most clearly and appropriately. I can help prepare for exams in terms of strategy as well as mastering the curriculum.
My approach to tutoring can be tailored to specific needs and can be as long or short as required. The pace of learning is controlled by the student and the delivery can include direct tuition, practical applications, demonstrations, problem solving and the working through and the analysis of past papers.
I am currently studying English Literature at the University of Cambridge and am really eager to help students anywhere from 11+ up to A-Level to engage more with literature and to achieve the marks they are more than capable of getting!
For each topic, I will give an introductory lecture of no more than 15 minutes that provides the bare foundations of the subject in question. By guiding my students through the learning process, we will then proceed, together, to work on fleshing out the details through relevant analytical and evaluative points (Relevant for essays and exams).
I tailor each class to the students needs, whether that involves prepping for drama school auditions, LAMDA exams, self tape advice or general acting classes.
As a recent student I understand how to teach and approach students in a way in which they can understand and retain new information.I think the most important thing is to first ensure that the student has the foundation and understanding required in order to approach the subject topic.
I give lessons to secondary and high school students on all levels up to IGCSE and GCSE. I prefer using the lecture method, discovery/inquiry method, learning by doing and problem-solving approach method altogether but of course according to the characteristics and learning skills of the students.
My teaching methodology is based on the humanistic-affective approach, which is an inductive modus operandi, a constant activation of the pre-knowledge of the student, as a tool to involve him both on the psycho-affective and cognitive level.
I'm a patient person who likes helping other people. I would adapt my lessons to the level and personality of the student. I would combine different types of activities to learn without being bored. I think it is important to make the student be excited about what it is learning.
