About Lauren

I am a 23-year-old Music graduate with a master's with distinction from the University of York. I play a variety of instruments and sing, and I have been playing flute for over ten years. I now work as a freelance musician and music tutor.

About the lesson

I take a very student-centred approach. If you're an absolute beginner, I can help you learn how to read music, how to hold the flute and basic music theory. If you're more experienced, I'll help you to improve your tone, breath control, flexibility and become a better all-round musician!

Review

All of our reviews are collected by us and are 100% reliable. They correspond to a real experience lived by the students of Lauren.

Perfect! Lauren is very approachable and reassuring, quick to notice where I’m going wrong in technique and point out how to improve in a way that worked for me. There was a noticeable difference in my playing at the end if the first lesson.

Lauren is a passionate, skilled musician and an excellent tutor. She is creative, kind and patient. I have known and played music with Lauren for several years. Her dedicated and thorough approach to music make her a joy to work with. Having seen her teach, I can heartily recommend her as a tutor - especially since she is so good at adapting teaching to the different needs of individual students.

I have known Lauren for five years through university and musical commitments and could not recommend her more. She is a highly trained musician, good with children, encouraging and open.
