On the first meeting, I hope to find out what the tutee is weak on or would like to work on. From this, I hope to test their basic knowledge of the subject material to find the depth of understanding that the tutee has. This will help both the tutee and I understand where we should focus and what topics we should target.
I am currently a second year dental student, going in to my 3rd year. I have an in depth knowledge in both biology and chemistry which I have developed over my GCSE's/ A levels and now up to degree level standard.
My teaching focuses on student-led learning, aiming to improve confidence and skill in areas where my students feel they need support. Lessons will build up gradually from basics to more complex themes, with regular recaps to ensure thorough understanding and progress.
In my 16 years of teaching students from all walks of life, I have developed lots of interpersonal skills and techniques in teaching students at varying levels and abilities. I like to incorporate life skills in every aspect of the job to make it more practical and applicable to my students. I like to get feedbacks and am more motivated by students interest.
My teaching method is progressive- Short term memory will be tested in relaxed activities eg mix and match, putting in order, flash card definitions, 1-2 mark quick fire questions. This is to ensure that information can be recalled quickly and easily so that it becomes second nature. Complex knowledge will be broken down and summarised into memorable key points.
Hello! My name is Afreen and I have a degree in Human Biology. I give lessons to students in all years of school and undergraduates. This includes primary school, secondary school, GCSE's, AS levels and A levels. I am a very good tutor, students I have taught before have made a lot of progress and I found it very rewarding watching them succeed.
My teaching methodology is that everyone should be smart about their learning as different methods work for better for different people. As a tutor, I will individualise my tutoring to how you best learn and help you find ways which work for you to retain knowledge. Furthermore, I understand that exam technique is important and I will make sure I stick to your syllabus.
There are several components of a curriculum, e.g., the contents, methods, tools, and the process of the teaching. The curriculum itself is developed following its educational goal in respect of the stakeholders, environment, and the education program.
I believe that if you enjoy your lessons, you'll learn more! I aim to make my teaching accessible and fun. We all have different learning styles, so I will adapt my teaching to what works best for the individual student.
As a dentist one of my "specialist" teaching areas was biomedical sciences for dental therapists/hygienists - including cell biology and physiology, as part of their first year. Much of the teaching in dentistry is 1-to-1. My experience tells me that the best way for a student to learn something permanently is the "lightbulb" experience: making connections for him/herself.
I believe that everyone learns differently so I am always open to teaching in different styles to help pupils learn effectively. I specialise in teaching Science at KS3 and KS4 level. I also deliver BTEC Level 3 Science. I often deliver content and then assess learning through exam practice or by pupils teaching back learnt content to me.
I am a medical student at the University of Birmingham, and have been a consistent high achiever. I studied at Kendrick School, and left with 3A*s at A Level. Having passed my first year with flying colours, I was particularly lauded for my presentation skills.
I can teach in a number of methods and all depends on the learning style of the student. This can be via presentations, books, images, spider diagrams or a combination of methods. In order to be obtain a positive outcome both the tutor and the student need to put an effort.
My name is Lucy and I have recently graduated in Neuroscience with first class honours from the University of Bristol. I am offering Science lessons for KS2, KS3, GCSE and A level students.
My teaching method varies from student to student. Firstly I believe a sound knowledge of the subject should be attained which includes knowing the basics of each topic within the subject. After acquiring such knowledge I believe in building on these foundations so that each student reaches above and beyond their full potential.
I am a 1st Year Undergraduate Biochemistry student. I can tutor mainly in Science and Maths until GCSE. I can also tutor History and English until Year 10 and can help with UCAS applications. To teach effectively, I will listen to how a student believes they learn best and use different techniques to find the best approach.
I approach each topic based on the students preferred method of learning. Some students prefer more practical examples while others want to follow a set curriculum and I offer both. I prefer to plan my lessons ahead of time so if the student and I could discuss each preceding lesson before-hand that would be great.
I am a University undergraduate studying Sport, Physical Education and Coaching Sciences. I am happy to tutor students who are willing to learn and develop their knowledge and understanding of Physical Education and Biology. I will guide students towards this learning.
I will give lessons to anyone studying biology up to and including A-level standard. Students of all abilities are welcomed. Teaching will initially require the student to inform me of areas within the subject they particularly struggle with so I can prepare appropriate lessons. I am a calm and understanding tutor with experience tutoring in the past.
Tailor lessons as per your needs. Explaining processes and concepts in a concise and clear way, with the incorporation of diagrams and questions to test progress. Assessment planning, prepare sessions, resources, collect, marking, judge/record evidence against standards, feedback, organise folder, E Track Student: progress tracker, meet deadlines, set targets, time management and relationships.
Hi, I'm a university student studying radiography and currently just passed into my second year. Being in education myself means the I'm aware of the range of studying techniques adopted by pupils and am more than happy to suit their personal needs. I believe that starting from a solid foundation of basic knowledge and then building upwards will prove effective when trying to learn anything.
A strict teaching methodology is not always good to use for everyone because different students learn in different ways. After a basic lesson with the student to understand what level they are at, I can compose together a teaching method for the effective learning of each student.
My teaching method is to coach the student at their own pace and work effectively with them to understand their requirements and learning style. From this a plan will be put in place to ensure the student achieves their goal.
Hi there. I'm a university lecturer educated to master's level. I will tutor anyone who is committed to improving their knowledge for their GCSE's and above. I am a fellow of the HEA which means I have appropriate the knowledge, skills and ability to teach at university.
Asides from my own academic success as you will see below, I have been tutoring now for over 3 years whilst in school doing IB and as a medical student at Imperial College London. I Think one of my main advantages is that I am young, so students often find it easier to engage with me, hence listening and learning better with me.
