I am aiming to give lessons to school students regarding biology. Having studies to advanced higher level myself and further at university level I feel I can offer large amounts of knowledge in this area. I am happy to help students with any topics that they are struggling to understand and guide them through the important aspects of the syllabus.
I offer lessons to GCSE/IGCSE students. I find that understanding (rather than memorizing) is the key to learning. In tutor sessions, we can focus on individual needs. I study using past papers and going through textbooks and other resources in conjunction with the syllabus in question.
My approach to teaching is very interactive - I like to engage my students in discussion, encourage them to ask questions, and have them arrive to an answer on their own, if with a little help and direction. I use a lot of visual aids such as colourful diagrams and flow charts. I believe that to learn something is to truly understand it.

I approach each topic with basics so that it becomes easier to understand. My method of teaching is based on step by step learning which makes it less complicated and interesting. I teach Biology and related subjects by drawing flow charts making it easier to remember.
I structure my tutorials by identifying what my tutees already know and what they are challenged by. Using text books. revision cards, images and videos, i encourage the tutee to understand concepts and their underlying mechanisms. Finally when my tutees are confident in their knowledge, i encourage them to TEACH me what they have learned as a means of data consolidation.
I am currently studying for a Master's degree, having completed over a year of research work for a start-up biotechnology company. Knowing how to successfully study for and pass exams well, I will ensure the course material covered will not only prepare the pupil for exams, but also for future education and work.

Before each lesson, I ask that my pupils give me 2-3 specific topics they may be experiencing difficulty with and want to understand more fully. This way I am able to plan and tailor my lesson to their specific needs. I then explore each topic with the student in a methodical, logical manner. Understanding the logic behind a topic makes it much easier to remember the facts.
