I am aiming to give lessons to school students regarding biology. Having studies to advanced higher level myself and further at university level I feel I can offer large amounts of knowledge in this area. I am happy to help students with any topics that they are struggling to understand and guide them through the important aspects of the syllabus.
I offer lessons to GCSE/IGCSE students. I find that understanding (rather than memorizing) is the key to learning. In tutor sessions, we can focus on individual needs. I study using past papers and going through textbooks and other resources in conjunction with the syllabus in question.
I base my lessons following the specifications of whichever course the student is on. I will begin asking questions on and around the spec and when I find a tripping point I expand until I am sure the student has got the idea. I am also happy to do ad hoc sessions on particular subjects students are studying on.
My approach to teaching is very interactive - I like to engage my students in discussion, encourage them to ask questions, and have them arrive to an answer on their own, if with a little help and direction. I use a lot of visual aids such as colourful diagrams and flow charts. I believe that to learn something is to truly understand it.
Currently a high-achieving 3rd year Student of Biology at the University of Aberdeen with a passion for sharing my knowledge of Biology and its beauty with others. Currently holding one year experience of tutoring up to A-Level / Advanced Higher Level and well-versed in their respective curricula. I am understanding, patient and clear in my tutoring style.
Biology is a full of fun if you know how to teach. My methodology involves memory tricks, curiosity based learning and full visual aids to train your brain to turn the information into the permanent memory. You will master biology in no time using this methodology.
I base my teaching method on the needs of the student as there are many different kinds of learners. Building an interest in the subject the student is struggling with is often a big part of the way I structure my classes. I find students become more confident and willing to learn if they are at least somewhat interested in the topic which is why I will always try to make it a fun class.
I will base my teaching on my own studies and how best to apply those techniques to the classes that my student requires help with. By teaching these techniques early, it will be possible for the student to apply them to future studies with little effort.
Providing diverse teaching style to adapt to the student studying science at primary level or specifically biology and chemistry at secondary level and GCSE/equivalent level. Determined in tailoring tuition to students style of learning in order to achieve maximum results.
My teaching method is to breakdown biology theory into simpler analogies and then begin to build up to more complex permutations. In terms of maths help, I break maths problems by deriving simple formulae that can be applied to the problems. I also explain how they are relevant explain its application to biological theory.
I can handle biology classes for school children and undergraduates. I prefer to provide one-on-one classes. I am good at making concepts easier. I will also provide with easy notes that would be handy for students to revise before their exams.
I prefer one on one lessons as this way I am able to give my full attention to the tutee so that they are able to excel in every way possible. I try to understand what the student already knows, this way I can fill in the gaps of their knowledge then build and strengthen it. I adapt my teaching style depending on the student.
Doing phd in medical sciences I am capable of delivering the best and concept developing lectures.
I base my teaching on a thorough understanding of basics before progression and I aim to make learning as fun as possible
My technique to Tute is by going through lessons and giving chance to student to explain there issue with that lesson. After understanding there issue we can concentrate to solve it by giving them easy examples on that topic.
I use story telling and drawing methods to teach students in a friendly way. Actually it depends on types of students because every student is different from each other.
I approach each topic with basics so that it becomes easier to understand. My method of teaching is based on step by step learning which makes it less complicated and interesting. I teach Biology and related subjects by drawing flow charts making it easier to remember.
I structure my tutorials by identifying what my tutees already know and what they are challenged by. Using text books. revision cards, images and videos, i encourage the tutee to understand concepts and their underlying mechanisms. Finally when my tutees are confident in their knowledge, i encourage them to TEACH me what they have learned as a means of data consolidation.
I am currently studying for a Master's degree, having completed over a year of research work for a start-up biotechnology company. Knowing how to successfully study for and pass exams well, I will ensure the course material covered will not only prepare the pupil for exams, but also for future education and work.
Students tell me what area they need help with and I create a lesson based on that and what level they are studying at.
I approach each topic by break it down and simplyifying it, I believe the best way to study is active recall so lots of questions and answers involved!
I would approach each topic in a different manner depending on the pupils needs and ways of learning. Most often however I would break down each topic into much simpler steps in order to make the subject more clear.
My teaching method is friendly and open, largely focusing on breaking concepts down into mangeable chunks that are easier to understand and assimilate
My method of teaching is understanding the most effective way my student comprehends information and delivering it in the most suitable way for them
I have a PhD in Genetics and following an academic research career, I have more recently been self-employed as a private tutor, coaching local (Aberdeen, Scotland) primary and secondary students in person on a 1 to 1 or small group (2-3 students) basis. I also tutor students online who prefer this mode of coaching or are not in the immediate vicinity.
I love teaching this subject and have experience with students of different levels. I first assess the student's knowledge (no need to take a test) and then focus on the problems and goals that the student has, while reviewing the key topics. I prefer to personalise my lessons to the student, both planning them in advance and adapting them while teaching if I see any issues during the lesson.
My teaching methodology is tailored towards the individual student and their age. I assess and target the weaknesses of students from an early stage. I structure my lessons based on topics and conduct both verbal and written assessments regularly in order to solidify knowledge. My lessons are highly interactive and I encourage students to take an active role in lessons.
I am energetic, highly motivated and I am not scared to start something new because I like challenges. I also am hard working and self-confident in everything I do. Friendship and honesty play an important role in my life and I think those values are essential in building lasting mutual trust between me and people I work with, so I can be trusted as a reliable and valuable team member.
Before each lesson, I ask that my pupils give me 2-3 specific topics they may be experiencing difficulty with and want to understand more fully. This way I am able to plan and tailor my lesson to their specific needs. I then explore each topic with the student in a methodical, logical manner. Understanding the logic behind a topic makes it much easier to remember the facts.
