I believe in the power of extra knowledge. With a subject like biology it is often easier to understand the basic concepts once you understand how these apply to real life. I aim to make my students excel beyond what they previously thought was achievable.
I believe that teaching works in two ways and there is no way that someone can learn if the person teaching them isn't willing to adapt their teaching methods to the student individually. This may be to match their own goals and aspirations or it maybe explaining a subject in lots of different ways until we find something that makes sense.
Vibrant, energetic, with a good subject knowledge looking to inspire and hone exam technique. Lessons will cover a range of styles. Willing to be flexible and focus on the topics that you are struggling with.
My teaching method is quite simple. Begin with a strong foundation and build on it through relation, resources and maintaining such foundation through repition.
I have been teaching for 28 years and I have provided private teaching for many years to students and the sons and daughters of friends and neighbours. These students have either achieved their target grade ( as it was in the past ) or surpassed it.
Structured lessons based around what you need/want to know and learn. Tell me what you want and ill help you to understand it. I have been through the exact same structure as everyone out there and i understand the pressures on young people. I strive to make learning fun with new techniques that may not have been thought of before.
An engineering student who taught children from the age of 9 to 17 years. I have taught key stage 2,3, GCSEs and A-levels. I have had an enormous success with my previous students as they progressed from grade F to grade A. I also believe motivation is key to young students overcoming their educational barriers, therefore I try my best to motivate students to achieve higher.
I am a College student very passionate about Biology and Science in general. I have achieved an A/B grade in GCSE Science Additional/Core. I give lessons to mostly GCSE students (Additional and Core Science), but I can also fairly well teach AS students (Biology). Biology, simply put, it's quite a factual subject, so there are not many ways to sugarcoat the subject.
Research based education and support, drawing on extensive reading and development of teaching and learning strategies. Student motivation, independence and metacognition at the center of all my lessons.
I am 18 and currently study human biology and the university of Hull. Aspiring to study medicine. And have 2 years experience in tutoring.
I provide an interactive form of teaching in which students can learn fun ways and tips to remember key facts and important information. My lessons are ideal for GCSE students, no matter what target grade, ideally on the AQA syllabus.
I have thorough notes from GCSE --> MSc level Biology including problems, mind maps and diagrams in easy to understand syntax. I believe learning is a combined process between teacher and student. With this in mind, I would start lessons as a discussion on the topics to be taught, with an interactive lecture that includes posing easy--> challenging questions to the student.
I give lessons to students studying science or mathematics topics at GCSE or A-level. I like to use an adaptive approach to teaching which involves identifying the areas a student is struggling with and focusing on them by breaking them down into easy to understand concepts and developing the skills the student needs to tackle these concepts independently in their exams.
One on one sessions, tailored based on the individual students need. Once we've established first contact, I can figure out which grading system the student is using, and tailor the content we go through to ensure it is relevant to the examing body. From there I will create a mentoring plan that ensures we cover all topics required with ample time for revision of specific topics of issue.
Every child is individual. The teaching needs to respect how a child reacts to authority some need to be set goals others thrive on praise.
The lessons are targeting undergraduate students and college students alike undertaking a course in biology. During my lessons I constantly try to make a connection between the theoretical side and the practical one in order to promote the logical understanding.
I work directly with individual students covering topic by topic with an end of unit test.I explain the subject matter and work through exam questions with the student.
