Teaching each that the student needs to know in the most efficient way.

Like many tutors my primary aim is to help the student feel comfortable with the content they are learning in school, and provide a boost in their education. Lesson starters, worksheets and PPQ's are essential in my sessions. I initially start each session by asking the student if there is anything they would like to ask regarding what they have learnt in school or college.
I am an Undergraduate Mechanical Engineering Student who is able to give private tuition to students studying GCSE’s and A-levels. The subjects I teach are Maths and Science. My main method of teaching is by breaking down difficult topics in order to understand them properly and then applying the knowledge learnt in the form of practicing exam questions.
I break down each topic. I use various teaching strategies such as the Power Point, white board and I make the lessons interactive. I also use past paper questions to ensure that students understand and have knowledge of the type of questions that they will be asked.
I am willing to teach anyone. I will assess the student first to see where the most help is needed. Lessons will be focused on making sure they are building confidence in their techniques and to go over any topic they want to. The student can ask for anything they need help in.
My teaching methodology involves tailoring the learning experience to the individual student. No 2 people learn the same way so I use many different learning aids such as PowerPoint, games , flash cards and past papers. I also ensured the whole GCSE or A - level syllabus is covered and not only understood but also the student is able to apply the knowledge.
My teaching style is interactive. In my first lesson, I conduct a general assessment of my students in order to ascertain their weak points. I work on their weaknesses, build them to the required educational standard and bring out the confidence level expected of them.
I hope to offer a laidback approach to lessons catered to the needs of the individual, having been tutored myself by various different tutors I hope to pass on their passion for the science. In my lessons I hope to spend time first understanding the concepts or basic knowledge required then the remainder of the lesson being spent applying the knowledge developed previously.

I give lessons to GCSE students normally but I would love to mentor A-level students who are studying chemistry as this is my strongest subject that I understand and would love to teach. I always approach each topic by going through the basics and ensuring they understand all concepts. I do this visually, with diagrams, whilst also explaining it verbally with examples and scenarios.
I start each topic with a baseline test before breaking down the content section by section and finishing off with an assessment to check to see if the student has gained knowledge

Whatever is best for the student. Everyone learns in different ways so it would be best to tailor my tutorship approach and content around the student's needs. It is usually obvious what the student's learning style is, and what methods suit them best.
