My teaching method is i teach a topic, then near the end i will give a test to see how much they have learnt. I also make them learn 5 words from the dictionary every week, i hold regular spelling tests, comprehensions etc....
All I ask my students to do is try. I'll explain the method, we'll go through a couple of questions together and then I will ask you to try some on your own before going through the answers. I believe in asking open questions and finding a method that works best for my students.
