My method of teaching is focusing on one topic at a time, using exercises and colourful revision posters, and finishing lessons with an overview of the subject to kept the content remaining fresh in their mind.
All I ask my students to do is try. I'll explain the method, we'll go through a couple of questions together and then I will ask you to try some on your own before going through the answers. I believe in asking open questions and finding a method that works best for my students.

I pick out an area of the syllabus (dependant on the exam board if GCSC level) and create tasks related to it and focus heavily on reading and writing.
