Find the best drum teachers in Fareham

The Pareto principle applied to drumming suggests focusing on core skills yields the biggest gains.

• Concentrate on essential rudiments like single strokes, double strokes, and paradiddles first.
• Keeping time accurately matters more than speed or complexity.
• Identify the 20% of exercises that challenge you and drill those.

This approach saves hours of wasted effort on techniques you rarely use.

Expect to pay approximately £25/h for a private drum lesson in Fareham.

This rate can vary depending on several factors:

• Your current ability, whether just starting or preparing for grades
• Your tutor's credentials, performance experience, and teaching history
• How long and how often you book, with discounts for regular slots
• Format of tuition, including online, at home, or at the teacher's studio

Booking multiple sessions in advance often brings the hourly rate down.

Beginners should focus on how to hold sticks correctly and play a basic 4/4 groove.

• Stick grip: The matched grip keeps both hands in a mirrored position for even strokes.
• Single stroke roll: It forms the basis for nearly every fill and groove you will ever play.
• Basic rock beat: This pattern underpins thousands of pop and rock songs.

They create a platform for learning more complex grooves, fills, and styles.
