I teach the way i would want to be taught with mutual respect and care for the learner/s, I teach and mark work not like my teachers mark mine but like how i would mark my own work. I think the secret to teaching is setting approachable targets that can and will be reached.
I believe that teaching starts with the building of self belief and a desire to succeed. From there, engagement can be further developed through carefully chosen texts, materials and methods that the student/s can relate to. Clear and constructive acknowledgement and feedback then feed in to the cycle of self belief and the desire to succeed.
I am an english literature graduate from goldsmiths university and qam wellm versed in many different subjects and topics like general knowledge, culture, spirituality, science and critical theory.
I am willing to give lessons to all ages from primary school to the end of high school. As I have just finished studying, I am very understanding of the stress young people are under and will try my best to help under these difficult circumstances. I try to make lessons fun and easy to understand.
Need support for your child to keep up in school? I have been tutoring for 5 years to pass on my knowledge of 11+ literacy and phonics if needed. I have been a teaching assistant for 17 years which has seen me work with hundreds of children. I even raised a child's reading age by 6years in just over 8months. This only works if the child is willing to learn.
Relaxed, clear and thoroughly planned beforehand, each lesson is as individual as the student. There is also an element of fun.
I teach both new material as well as evaluating old work and providing recap time during sessions if required. I also allow time for revision and go over basic exam skills and preparation. I like to start by talking about what area the student needs to cover and then provide both learning resources and support for them.
I'm an enthusiastic teacher who caters to the needs of each individual student whilst trying to make my lessons as fun as possible. I am currently a postgraduate student at the University of Manchester, and I studied English and American Literature full time at the University of Kent.
We all learn differently, in school I was always afraid to ask questions in case it was the wrong question. How can a question be wrong, when you are asking so you know the answer. I learnt from my teachers in school that I would never make a student feel as i did. You would have the time and freedom to ask questions, you feel are relevant and important.
My teaching aims to support and inspire children to achieve their potential. I have studied Primary Education and have supported children in a whole-class and one-to-one environment. As an educator I believe I strive for the best children can achieve and can discover their limitations to support them.
As a teacher, I consider one of my greatest strengths to be creativity, and take joy in preparing lectures that truly keep the students engaged. I use different research methodologies and self-oriented study techniques to deliver my objectives and presentations.
I have taught in many different settings I like to assess each invididuals capabilities and levels of English before I begin my teaching. I like to mix a range of methodologies together when teaching my students. I use a very hands on approach and like the children to learn through fun and interesting activities rather than using repeatative techniques.
I am a 30 year old male and a qualified teacher with over six years of diverse teaching experience. Having studied languages myself in an academic setting, I understand the individual needs of learning and the immense pleasure that can be drawn from studying languages. My lessons begin with a diagnostic approach and I then prepare classes and course for individual students or small groups.
My teaching method is a student centred approach, facilitating the student exploring and taking responsibility for their own learning. The structure of my lessons is always based on the individual student's needs and learning styles, as no two students learn the same way.
I approach each topic and lesson by ensuring the student is aware of what they should know by the end of the session or unit. That way if anything is left out or they are uncertain of something it can be pinpointed and worked on until the pupil is confident with their knowledge.
I prefer to teach in small groups or one-on-one lessons in order to really understand students strengths and weaknesses in a topic. I like to build confidence in students who never previously believed in themselves and I do this by taking a considerable amount of time going over pieces of work and demonstrating what they succeeded in and how small changes could help to improve their work further.
I believe grammar is a base of every language and if you need to learn any language, you would need to learn grammar first, which I will be focusing own with vocabulary and speaking practices.
It is my intention to tailor my lessons to the needs and interests of the students, to try to build up my students' confidence by taking into account their individual learning style and to provide feedback that is both positive and constructive.
As for my teaching, I prefer to have a loose lesson plan based on what the student needs help with and structure my lessons around them. I factor in time for the student to talk about anything they need extra work on or are worries about.
I base my class on the students ability and working from there. Setting mini tasks for them in order for them to interact with the teaching.
I am a degree student who is happy to tutor anyone from primary school through to sixth-form. I like to create a student-centred tutoring style and like to adapt my lesson plans to meet the needs of my students. I have experience working with students with additional needs and can, therefore, structure lessons to fit a variety of needs and abilities.
A student-centred approach where I focus on the topics that the student finds most difficult in first then continue with the rest of the syllabus.
Inspiring student to do well via practical and day to day experience with real life exposure via different methodology .
I provide lessons to anyone up to the age of 18, I have a comfortable way of teaching to ensure my student reach their highest potential. I've been described as an 'older sister' as well as tutor, as I aim to make sure my students have the best wellbeing, as well as education.
I focus on teaching through fun means such as academic games and activities. I believe this makes tuition more attractive and appealing for both the pupil and myself. I also find that a reward scheme be this stickers etc. is very beneficial and this grounds my teaching style.
I have a slightly different approach to teaching than most; I spend a lot of effort building a relationship with my students, and use this to inform my teaching. I am creative, open minded, and have a true passion and enthusiasm for both teaching and English. This year, I sat the GCSE English Language exam as a student (it has been over 8 years since I sat my GCSE's!).
I have trained Trade Union Representatives in Management services, and am qualified in this discipline to Diploma level, spending 32 years as a Management Consultant, with Royal Mail as well as Industry (B.O.C., FedEx,) presenting and training all from shop floor to Senior Executive level.
My style of teaching is to talk to the student and try to find how best they learn, as everybody learns differently. I can teach all kinds of students, even those with learning difficulties and of ages anywhere between 5 and 18. I am a team player, I'm very patient and understanding and take great pride in helping others to achieve to the best of their abilities.
I am a patient, friendly and confident tutor with teaching and tutoring experience across primary and secondary schools, colleges, community centres and universities. I chose to become a tutor as I have a genuine passion for education and enjoy supporting students throughout their studies.
