I'm here to teach or tutor french to young kids aged 7 to 14. I myself am french and have done my whole high school education in french. I am currently at university and would love to help and teach my native language to others. I am fluent in english and french which is convenient for an easier understanding or translations.
The most important element for me is to understand where you are at and where you want to go, then I can make a tailored plan for us to reach your goals together.
I will give lessons to younger and enthusiastic students who want to learn French or are currently studying it in school and need a bit of extra help outside of the classroom.
I especially help you with your homework but we also can work on a particular topic of your choice if you want. We go step by step starting at the very beginning if necessary. I usually adapt my lessons to the student.
Well, it all depends on your level and your goals, but also what you like to do and how you like to learn things - we are all different and we do not learn the same way. It is important that we all agree on something that will not only be useful for you but also will please you! But, I truly think talking is the best way to learn a language.
I am a serious and funny person who will help you reach your goal. I have helped a lot of students at University and helped them to always get a First. Work regularly is the best option and I will give you some good methods to organise your work.
My teaching methods depend on my students. According to their levels and what they want to improve, I adapt my classes and I always try to meet their expectations. I am always open to new suggestions and we define goals for each session so they could see how they improve and the things they have to work on.
-Understand the need -Understand the person, their strengths, weaknesses, character... -Articulate the goal -Devise a schedule that will dictate when and how much work should be done to reach the objective -Cultivate the discipline to honour the scheduled tasks Mind you, all of the previous is done as a dialogue with the student, nothing is imposed, as there is no shoe that fits all sizes.
Making sure you communicate in a language on a regular basis is essential to learning vocabulary, grammar and pronunciation skills in my opinion. Depending on your level, I mostly tend to start with an evaluation of your comfort with basic communication, and attempt to find interesting topics for us to discuss in the language. I can also help with exam preparation if necessary.
I really enjoy teaching and helping others, and I hope that as a French person I can provide you with some cultural background and knowledge, which will make learning the language much more enjoyable. Working with children also helped me improve the 'fun' aspect of my lessons, as I had to make sure the latter were entertaining so that I could make them engage with the subject.
I am a French Student at the University of Leeds and I would be delighted to help you with your French ! I have already tutored French students in English. Moreover, I plan on becoming a French teacher in the UK. I can adapt myself to your needs and use different support as you wish.
I am a 19 year old first year "International Relations" student at the University of Leeds. I have lived both in the United States and in France, as well as travelled to different countries in the context of humanitarian organizations and linguistic experiences. I am a responsible, mature and honest individual capable of teaching children in an entertaining and stimulating way.
PGCE CERTIFIED TEACHER Experienced Teacher of MFL & ESOL; Trilingual in English, French & Spanish • Credentials include current PGCE teaching certification, proficiency in French & Spanish and a BA in Business Management. • Professional Membership.
I can give French classes for all levels, Spanish classes up to high intermediates, and maths to an intermediate level. I tend to work with material given at school and base my exercises around these lessons. I can also help with homework/exam preperation.
My teaching method is based on active learning - following educational research I have discovered that breaking tracks and passages and even grammatical phrases down and examining the separate pieces is a great way to ensure that my students retain that information long term.
French is a very difficult language so first I am focusing on basis (grammar, vocabulary and conjugation) so you will be able to construct sentences and understand other people. The key is to work on reading, writing, and speaking aspect but also prononciation which is the most difficult aspect.
I work with students to find out where they lack confidence. I then come up with methodologies to help with these as well as encourage the student to speak to me in French as much as possible. - create a speaking workshop to encourage general confidence in the language. By doing this, you naturally acquire more vocabulary and the ability to normalise speaking out loud.
I base my teaching on my students' goals, needs and difficulties, be it focus on speaking skills, or extra work towards exams/certifications. I build on the preexisting knowledge, while trying to strengthen confidence and practice (especially speaking practice).
I believe that French tuition should be orientated towards giving as much confidence as possible to the pupil/person. Speaking in another language can be very daunting and I usually make sure that students feel comfortable enough to speak French or Spanish.
The work is based on discussion in french, learning vocabulary, french expression, and accent. Class being in French, convenient to advanced student or businessmen. French business approach also provided (from basic (phone,greetings,...) to advanced ; how to conduct a meeting, management, negociation, french specificity in business...) supported by a personnal experience at high level.
As a young student, I like to teach in a very friendly and productive environment. I put an emphasis on teaching effective french that you can rapidly use in your everyday life without. I believe that it is important to learn a language but also to discover the culture that surrounds it. As a native speaker I'm more than happy to share it with you and to give you the desire to learn even more.
I like use technical grammar books, practise the language based on discussions, exercises, reading. I combine serious and fun during my teaching. I adapt to the level of all my student. I make them learn songs, poems. I like to create informal discussions in french.
Hi everyone! I'm currently studying English literature, history and translation at the University of Leeds for a year as an Erasmus exchange student. I can offer some French lessons as this is my mother tongue.
I am German and Polish from Luxembourg who went to a French school. I have done both French and German high school degrees and I have worked as a tutor at my school beforehand. I try to understand where the pupil needs help and figure out the best suited methodology for their efficient learning as well as studying.
My teaching method is based on analysing the linguistic needs of students by spotting areas of language weaknesses. I usually apply an experimental teaching method which involves the improvisation of situations where the student has to express himself/ herself according to the situation raised.
My teaching method is based on my linguistics knowledge, and on conversation. I usually put the accent on details teaching how to play with words making the student enjoy learning.
I want to motivate students to learn something useful for their futur and I want to enhance their skills such as thoroughness or discipline. It's also important to understand the students in order teach them things in a challenging way for them. With me, the student will learn to understand French and to have some basic conversations.
My mother was a teacher so I base my lessons on what she has told me and taught me. I also base it on how I was taught French and not how it is taught in English schools. I believe in trying to communicate in French throughout the lesson, if possible after a few lessons, to help you get used to hearing it and not just written.
I like to form a trusting relationship with my students in order for them to feel comfortable enough to tell me anything they don't understand. I tend to dedicate one class to each topic in order to fully be able to explore this topic in detail until the student understands, however this does depend on the size of the topic and the student's ability.
I start off with basics and build up. I can teach high school students, A levels, and any beginners. I believe that a combination of writing, listening and reading is crucial to a full language development. I love seeing progress.
