As someone who has been through the struggles of GCSE and A levels, I like to centre my lessons around the needs of my students and will adapt my style to what best suits the student. If I'm going to be your tutor, I would appreciate it if you told me your exam board and prior to each lesson, the topics you are struggling with.
I am a Medical Student at studying at Barts and the London, Queen Mary University of London. Having been through the GCSE and Alevel exams at Watford Grammar only a few years ago, I am sympathetic, experienced and understanding of the knowledge required for you to achieve the top grades. I tailor each tuition to suit the individual to ensure that you will feel confident with the content.
I teach concepts from first principles, using various real-world examples to bring the subject to life and add flavour. I use a combination of visual, aural and kinesthetic approaches, suited to the individual student's preferred learning style.
My teaching method is simple yet precise, introducing each topic from the basics and gradually building up an inderstanding more complex ideas. I have a bank of questions and solved solutions to aid with question practice and methodology which are all included in my session price.
My teaching method is focusing directly on the main points of the lesson, which helps to connect the students quickly with the course, understanding the difficult points, and practicing on the important sections of the courses. Students achieve the best results with a Face-to face meeting .
I am a second year physics student studying at the University of Bristol and am highly passionate about my subject! I believe to truly teach physics and math's comprehensively, the content needs to first be understood, often through analogies or diagrams, and then it needs to be practiced through a variety of different question types so the examiners can't catch you out!
As a student, I know what it takes to get those A*s and 9s. My teaching method is made by a student for students. Often teachers do not know the best teaching methods however over my time in eduction I have been able to perfect my teaching and revision techniques which I would love to share with you. Discipline, Motivation, Guidance and direction.
As I’ve only just completed my GCSEs and am getting my results in August I currently have no official qualifications but have been been predicted level 9s for both maths and further maths at gcse level, I will teach anyone up to GCSE level.
I base my classes on the specification of maths from the board. I approach each topic by first breaking it down, working from the basics, working up to the complex parts and using past paper questions in doing so to allow for exam preparation.
I am an LSE graduate with a First Class Honours degree in Economics. I achieved 4 A*s at A-Level (Maths/Further Maths/Economics/Chemistry) and 10A*s at GCSE. I believe exam technique and course content are key to exam success and so should be taught alongside each other.
My teaching method is to introduce a topic with the more simple concepts and gradually get into teaching the more complex subject. Importantly ensuring to try questions as we go along.
I am an a level student and i give lessons to students that are both my age and younger. i have helped students understand maths from the basics and most have been able to apply those skills to much more complex questions. so far i have only tutored voluntarily but have had a deep interest in taking it into a larger environment and try to help more students with maths and further maths.
I have an active life-long commitment to teaching for over 16 years as a Maths and Physics teacher and tutor working for schools. Initially, I established my teaching experience in Iran as Maths/Physics teacher; and then, I continued the same positions since I moved to London, in 2010. I am currently working as a teacher for a School in London teaching Maths/Physics GCSE and A-Level.
I have a positive attitude and a passion to assist and motivate struggling learners and is key to building confidence and achieving academic goals. I find, from my own experience, that people learn things differently and at different paces; when students struggle with a subject, it’s usually because their learning style conflicts with the style or pace with which it is being taught.
My first goal is to make sure students have a clear understanding of the basics and to fill in any gaps that have left them struggling to understand the more advanced topics .
My teaching is going topic by topic, focusing first on the students weaker topics, giving clear methods (with the simplest route to the answer and layout for maximizing marks) for common styles of questions that are likely to appear in an exam along with explanations that provide understanding of why the method works and the aim/outcome of the method.
I am able to tutor any age and ability with flexible working hours during the week and weekend. I will provide a personalised approach to your learning and always aim make our sessions enjoyable and targeted to your curriculum so that you can take the most from them.
My preference is to work one to one with students and specifically focus on problem areas the students are having. I also like to work real world applications in order to explain why such mathematical techniques are useful. I also give advice with regards to exams and good exam technique.
For each topic, I would ask the areas of weakness first and build from there with activities ranging from tackling questions to watching relevant youtube videos. Once the weaknesses have been dealt with, we will go through the rest of the content.
My approach is unconventional yet simple. Unlike standard methodologies for teaching maths, I promote somehow old fashion teaching methodologies. I give the student the tools and teach them how to use them correctly and effectively, rather than spoon-feed them by solving the biggest number of problems and exam questions.
I will give lessons in maths and further maths up to As level. I will help you achieve the grade you are aiming for by assessing your abilities and helping on topics you find difficult. I will go through them in our lesson and assign homework to make sure you fully understand the topic. I will also bring my own resources on any topic you need help with.
Hi, my name is James and I am a tutor specialising in Maths, Physics and Engineering for A Level, GCSE, and entrance exam students. I am personable, easy to approach, and can cater to a wide variety of teaching styles. I like to be flexible in my lesson structure, as I know every student is different.
I base all my lectures in the constructive alignment principle, which means basically matching the student capacity with the intellectual challenge. During the first lesson I assess what are the learning outcomes required and the knowledge/skills of the students. Based on that and the available time, the tutoring sessions are planned.
I run through the curriculum to identify gaps in knowledge, then create exercises to help the base understanding of the problem and how to go about solving it. If a problem arises during solo study, particularly the tricky questions at the end of the paper, I'm on call to help.
My teaching method is very simple. This enables adaptability for every student I teach as each person is different and will respond differently to different teaching styles.
I believe that the most important part of learning a subject is to understand the subject. To achieve this, I like to make sure that the student has a strong understanding of the fundamentals. Once a student has this understanding, they are able to rely on their own reasoning in more difficult topics, and they will find these topics easier to learn.
In the past I have taught private lessons to students at GCSE level, and in these lessons my aim is not to revise what the student has gone over in school lessons; instead I aim to develop the student's understanding of the topic in general by exploring other ways of looking at it, or showing them new ways to learn about an area they may be struggling.
I always endeavour to produce a comfortable yet efficient teaching environment in which the student is motivated to learn and has access to the right tools and knowledge to do so. I am very aware and understanding of the fact that every student learns differently and at different paces and so I make it a necessity to tailor each session to the individual to ensure maximum learning and happiness.
I have previously tutored GCSE pupils however though I have not tutored A-Level students I can safely say I have the correct level of experience to do so considering how recently I finished my exams. I take organisation seriously, I do believe past papers are the key to achieving your Maths grade.
Hi! I'm a Second Year student studying Natural Sciences at Christ's College, Cambridge. This year I began to specialise in Physics and Maths, but I also have plenty of experience in Chemistry.
