Each student has their own way of understanding mathematics, my aim would be to find out how you understand maths and use that to help you understand topics or questions you struggle with. I approach topics working from the base upwards, assessing your level of understanding and finding questions and examples to work on with you.
I am a dedicated and hardworking student studying chemistry at the university of Birmingham. I can teach maths and chemistry up to A-level having gone through the exam so fairly recently I know the key mistakes students make and how to address them.
Let's keep it simple. Everything in Maths seems fine, doable and maybe -sometimes- even easy. That is, until you open up the exam paper. So, Exam papers is where we'll start. We'll cover, but main focus will be to develop skills to help you answer those exam questions because that's what you're working towards at the end of the day.
My methodology to teaching is every student is different, they all have different methods of understanding. As a tutor it is very important to know your student and understand the weakness and also their strengths, ensure they over come and eliminate weaknesses by motivating them through their strengths.

I like to do visual teaching by drawing diagrams and with the use of textbooks and colorful diagrams. I like to build foundations of understanding the basics as well as learn new things myself.

I like to encourage students to try finding their own answers to questions with many hints before I disclose any solutions. I believe that this method of guided discovery allows one to truly understand the concepts at hand.
I focus on explaining the topics from the basics so that the topic is understood clearly and all doubts are cleared from the foundation level. Also after I finish the lesson, I generally ask students to complete some homework that I can check at a later stage to see the progress of the student and which topics need to be revisited.

Everyone has a particular teaching style. For me it is very important to understand the student’s goals (e.g. solve certain type of problems, understand a concept, improve marks, pass an exam, develop your general mathematical thinking, etc). Once we have our goals clear we can agree on a working plan, as short or long as it should be considering the time and expectations that you have.
I believe each student has their own personal preference for learning, hence, I try to accommodate to the best of the students learning capability. I am a firm believer of learning by experience, association and teaching, it is these pratices I would bering into lessons to help students grasp a deeper understanding.
I give Maths lessons from 11+ up to GCSE level. I enable students to reach their potential by complimenting their school work, working specifically on their areas of weakness. My teaching is primarily done alongside exercises, which I both use to gauge the development of my students as well as to identify topics which need more work.

I posess honours degree in engineering from India (75%) and post graduation in IT (Coventry University, merit class).
