I have taught postgraduates at university level in two disciples, Sociology and History. I am friendly, approachable and always open to questions. My method of teaching is based around 'discussion teaching', i prompt students to think and critically reflect to come to their own answers.
I am passionate for history as a subject and am currently taking it at A-level and further into university. At GCSE I achieved a grade A equivalent to the new numerical grade 9.
I research the topic of the lesson extensively before attending the lesson. I aim to cultivate interest in the topics among my students, while providing a holistic understanding of the historical material. I encourage my students to be critical of everything that they read and not to doubt their own criticisms.
I am currently a History and Politics student at York University. I am an experienced tutor of these subjects, teaching at both GCSE and A Level for reasonable rates. Having sat these exams recently myself I have experience of the difficulties and stresses of them, and offer specialised lessons depending on your specific situation.
I generally approach A-Level topics by making sure to go over notes, writing them in a way that helps students individually when they start to memorise them. This can be done through helpful mnemonics and in-depth flashcards.
