My teaching method is very flexible and I am able to teach students slowly and efficiently in order to help them learn gradually and productively.
I primarily teach children between the ages of 8 and 11. However I have had a few Adult Literacy classes for some students who are learning English as a Foreign Language.
My teaching method is going through the work with the student, making sure they understand the task and then talk them through step by step on how to get a full mark answer in the question. My technique is also giving them key words to revise and study for future use.
*I can only take on students interested in long term study (min. 6 classes), thank you.* I taught English at UCL for 6 years, and also other top universities. I am a calm, committed teacher and enjoy helping students achieve their goals.
I tailor my teaching to the learning style of my student. I do my best to structure all of my lessons and activities around student interests to make real life learning experiences that are more meaningful and engaging for my students.
My method of teaching you will be specifically tailored to you. No two lessons with my students are the same. I aim to give you the most effective lessons by focusing on your specific learning styles and learning habits so you have the best chance of succeeding.
My teaching method is based on building my students confidence on grasping the basics of any given topic and ensuring there is continuous practice repeatedly in order to work up that confidence and smoothly move on to harder challenges.
I aim to teach in a chronological and systematic way, and always ensure that each topic/concept is gone through and understood thoroughly before undergoing another topic. My main focus is on exam preparation, the key to achieving top grades is exam practice and nothing else.
My teaching method is treating each student according to their capabilities. Firstly, I gauge what skill level they are already at, before confirming with them where they would like to be. Patience is key, and trying out new methods to see what works best for them.
I being by asking students to analyse new pieces of literature at the start of tutoring sessions. My teaching method is to use an assessment-focussed approach. This does NOT mean having students write frequent long monotonous essays but rather allowing for constant opportunities for students to demonstrate knowledge through AFL (assessment for learning) tasks. Essays are used only to measure progress at three-week intervals. I base my classes on breaking topics down into digestable chunks.
I perfer to teach in a fun way that keeps the student focused and engaged in learning. I like to organise my lessons in a constructive way. I do not like to move on to the next step until I am adamant that the student understands the topic. I relate well to children and am good at motivating and encouraging to build high self esteem.
