I approach each topic by making mind maps, PowerPoints and flashcards to produce the basic points and then to create more detail over time. Lesson will last an hour, throughout that hour we will go through basic points of each topic then go into more depth via powerpoints and mindmaps.
I am a qualified primary school teacher (aged 4-11 years) with 18 years of teaching and senior management experience in school. I love teaching and believe that it should be fun and interesting. I offer tutoring for any age in all primary school subjects and English and History for KS 3 and 4 and adults.
I can tailor your lessons to your learning style and help you meet your school targets, while making your lessons fun. We can work on basic skills to achieve small goals that will help you reach your potential. Learn, laugh, live your life.
My teaching level is from GCSE to A-Level standards. I teach lessons in blocks and focus on what the individual needs more support with as well as regular recaps on covered topics. I make lessons fun and useful and aim to achieve the indivdual's goal.
I specialise in tailoring all of my classes around each student's individual needs - everyone requires something different! Before we work together I like to discuss exactly what it is you're hoping to get out of our sessions together, so no time is wasted in identifying a pupils needs.
I am a postgraduate of English Literature and History, graduating with a 2:1 in 2015, keen to provide personalised and enthusiastic teaching through a range of methods incorporating passion and fun. I have previous experience of a 6 week placement in a special needs school, plus tutoring struggling students through their GCSE's and A-Levels to achieve the results they want and deserve.
My aim is always to work with students strengths and so when I begin working with an individual or a group I spend the first session (or couple of sessions, if necessary) looking at previous work or carrying out a few games and simple exercises to establish an understanding of what the student CAN do and their individual style of learning.
I base my teaching on the individual needs of each student. I believe this helps establish a trusting relationship between myself and the student because they are receiving catered, 1:1 support from their tutor. I believe students learn so differently from one another and really keeping this in mind is key for success.
My teaching method is to make you relax and see that you are doing well! I am incredibly positive and know that it's difficult to learn something new and you are amazing for pushing what you know and getting a little extra boost. I am great at adapting lessons to your needs as well as responding to what you would like to do and creating resources to suit (which I always email!).
I hold a degree in Psychology and I am currently in the process of paying for my Post Graduate Diploma in Multidisciplinary Design Innovation. I am happy to teach anyone up until A2 level.
My teaching methodology is of inquiry or discovery learning a technique, where I facilitate instead of teaching and praise students on the basis that all must be winners, classrooms where what children learn is based on their immediate interests. Where the student/group can receive the utmost assistance on an individual basis.
Writing a thesis can be a nightmare or a fun dynamic process, depends on how you deal with it! Enjoying your thesis will make you a better writer.
I give lessons to anyone aged 11 or over; in particular, I work well with people who are struggling, as I have a patient, friendly nature and love to help students make progress. I like to work with students to identify areas of development and create resources to help scaffold the student and rapidly encourage progress.
I strongly believe that academic excellence begins with a genuine interest in the subject you are learning about. Students can exceed in English Literature by immersing themselves in the texts they are studying: breaking them down, devoting attention to "surface level" readings & being able to articulate what they mean when they say a text has "meaning".
My teaching method is both fun and eccentric in the hope that I can make English appear amusing to children.
I treat each child as an individual. I tailor the teaching to their level of concentration and their interests. I believe in learning facts and skills and use repetition to build skills over time, introducing new content at the child's pace.
I am an enthusiastic student myself and I usually tutor both young children and teenagers getting ready to sit their GCSE exams.
I teach English and I give lessons to primary school kids who are struggling with English, especially the ones who are struggling with pronunciation and perhaps reading as well. The way how I would teach is that I would go through each step one by one and make sure that the student understands what to do. As a tutor, I will try and help the student as much as I can and support them all the way.
For KS2 and KS3 level students I use the excellent CGP Books to cover the curriculum for their year. For GCSE and A Level students, I tutor for the specific exam board's requirements as they do differ and have different books, poems and plays.
I base my tutor sessions on harnessing strengths, and strengthening weaknesses. I am open-minded, and adaptable to the needs of my students, making each class unique. I can help in many areas and I am confident I can work with my students in order to give them their necessary tools for success.
My teaching method will always be tailored to the type of person and level that I am tutoring. I find it easy to form quick connections, in which I can determine the best kind of learning style for each student. Most importantly, I will always be very interactive, trying to put across my passion for this work and helping inspire students to feel the same way.
I strongly believe that tailoring teaching to the individual child is essential in order to overcome and barriers to their learning and enables me to support them to reach their full potential! I believe learning should be exciting and inspiring for children and this is something which I would continually promote.
During my education and my relatively long career in customer service and public relations I gained a huge amount of expertise, so now I am keen to pass on to others my skills and experience. I like working with people and feeling I am helping them.
I as an educator know that student engagement is the key to learning retention and having a great overall classroom experience. With changing times, education requires adaptation and evolution. Students are not as easily captivated as before by simple colourful animations in textbooks and monotonous songs to correlate with learned concepts.
I am a highly experienced teacher of English who will endeavour to inspire you and provide you with the confidence, skills and knowledge that you need to succeed in your studies.
