I try and find out what pupils find difficult about a subject, and then talk through the theory and offer different methods to approach problems, providing plenty of examples and questions to make sure the content is understood! Having not always enjoyed or been good at science and maths, and having taught numerous people, I am sympathetic to how frustrating not grasping something can be and will...
I am about to start a teacher training course for primary teaching in September. I am, therefore, focusing my efforts on tutoring children at this level. I work with students to help them focus on problem areas within the curriculum. I approach in an engaging way that results in pupils gaining confidence and becoming an increasingly independent learner.
My teaching method is to choose what the child needs, do lots of progress tests and also make the lesson fun and interactive for the child to engage and learn.
Simple, easy to follow explanation for topics, Flash cards, mind map for quick revision, individual topic based exam question practice. Easy to follow point wise notes, summary, quick revision before each new topic. Learning at pace students are comfortable with. "Science is interesting and easy to follow not boring and dificult".
I am very clear and patient as I feel that children should be able to feel relaxed and comfortable when learning
I personally prefer flexible teaching methodology. As every students are unique, the same teaching method may not be effective to all students. Instead of having a standardised teaching method, I tend to first understand the backgrounds of students (e.g. academic level, personality, learning ability) then apply personalised teaching methods to them.
I graduated from Cardiff University in July 2013. - Which subject(s) do you teach? I teach the cello, piano and music theory from beginners through to Grade 5, German and Italian up to A-level, Maths and Music up to GCSE. - Tell me about your qualifications. I hold a German and Italian BA, A-levels in Maths, Music and German, Grade 8 Cello and an ATCL Diploma on the piano.
I am an Electrical Engineer with vast knowledge of Science and other subjects. I can teach most of the science and few other subjects till GCSE Level. My most successful technique is to come down to the level of the student and raise him along with me to the required level of competence.I help my students get tough academic targets on time.
I have previous experience working as a full time tutor in a boarding school. Now I work with finance.
If you are looking at completing GSCE's A-Level examinations or just want some extra help before then I am happy to help. I suffered from dyslexia at school but excelled in maths subjects and have experience teaching maths to all ages, levels and learning styles.
I'm happy to teach Maths to anyone up to A-Level standard. I have experience with children from a young age and believe in making lessons enjoyable and relatable so the student is not worried about making mistakes or completing homework but rather feels comfortable with the subject.
Confidence building is key! I aim to make all topics accessible- if one way of solving a problem doesn't suit, I pursue others until we find something which you can understand and remember easily. I relate the mathematical scenarios to real life examples so the student can make logic connections and apply to future questions.
I am a fourth year Mechanical Engineering student at Cardiff University. I am able to provide lessons in Maths and Physics with the possibility of other subjects such as Geography and Chemistry up to a AS level standard. Having being through tuition myself I am provide a refreshing and young method of teaching which involves many different techniques tailored around the students needs.
I can give lessons up to A-Levels courses; which I just graduated with AAB, As for Physics and Italian and B for Maths. I like to teach my students with a more personal approach, talking to you in a way as a friend and not like every other strict teacher. I focus that you can understand to a 100% each topic, so you can achieve better grades.
My teaching approach is to first find out all the topics the student needs help with and split each session to focus on an individual topic, putting emphasis on the areas where students struggle the most. I very much want to hear what the student wants most help with so I can provide them with the support they need.
Will adapt style to suit your needs, following the national curriculum for Wales and using guidelines from exam boards where relevant
I will give lessons from simple primary school level maths (addition, subtration, multiplication etc.
I am an experienced teacher offering lessons to students at the Primary level. I have taught for over four years and have seen tremendous success in the growth of my students. I am extremely patient and have a variety of methods to get a student to understand a difficult concept.
I am a 2nd year Astrophysics student at Cardiff University, comfortable teaching maths and physics from Secondary to A level. I aim to achieve a fun and comfortable learning environment, structuring my lessons around the tutee's preferences. I like to get to know my tutee and understand what they wish to get out of our tutoring sessions. I then plan my sessions to ensure they achieve the goals.
I am an International student studying Mechanical Engineering at Cardiff Univesity, with a diploma from the International Baccalaureate (Maths Higher Level, Physics Higher Level) and iGCSE's. I aim to offer students new methods for understanding the subject that they may not have been taught by their school teacher.
My teaching method is mainly through examples and showing how to solve the problem by explaining and writing and/or using diagrams which has been proven to be the more understanding methodology for students.
I plan to use my A for Math and Physics A-level to help students get the grades they need to get into the university of their choice by applying the same methods which have allowed me to prosper in higher education.
My teaching method is to go over things by topic and revise, and then to do past questions to practice techniques
Everyone learns differently, so I aim to first tackle the topics that make up the foundation of Maths & Physics then proceeding onto the exam questions. I like to reinforce learning continuously so subjects are not forgotten. I look to establish the lessons topic before hand and set out a worksheet so the student is familiar with the lessons agenda.
Hey I'm a medical engineering student at Cardiff University, and on track for a first. At A-levels I did Maths, physics and Biology, achieving AAB. My approach to teaching is student depended, but I feel the best way to understand something that you find tricky is to approach It from a different angle, and what better way than with help from a tutor.
I'm a 2nd Year Physics student at Cardiff, I went to Sixth Form in Cambridge, and am very passionate about Maths, achieving an A* in Maths and a B in Further Maths at A level. I give lessons to GCSE, AS and A level students (Maths and Further Maths), provided the students are willing and eager to succeed.
Name: Gemma Herrington (Nickname: Miss H) Contact: (concealed information)8 or email (concealed information) I use plenty of Visual aids, such as diagrams and pictures and plenty of colour by picking out the key information and giving plenty of detail that is easy to understand and hopefully entice you too continue studying such a wonderful subject.
I have excellent pedagogic skills, focused on meeting individual student needs. I teach in an interactive way that encourages participation.
Perfect the basics and the complicated 'stuff' will follow. Mathematics is like a maze. If you enter the maze without knowing the first few turns, no matter how hard you try, you will only become more lost. Simplicity is key in Mathemnatics. Tackle each question clearly and ALWAYS draw diagrams.
I am currently studying English Literature at Cardiff University and have also studied Mathematics at the University of Bristol. I have a passion for both of these subjects and have experience teaching both. Lessons will be structured as an accompaniment to school lessons; covering the basis of a topic and then expanding understanding through examples and different explanations.
