I'm currently studying Maths at University of Dundee and I am free over the summer period to help those struggling in the subject area, ensuring understanding of questions and methods rather than a 2D knowledge of the subject to enable the student to tackle questions once they#re being tested.
I am currently a masters student studying Cognitive Neuroscience and a recent psychology graduate with a strong background in advanced statistics. I offer lessons for GCSE, A Level and undergraduate students. I provide lessons for all levels of statistical knowledge, from basic to advanced, as well as tutorials on how to use SPSS and read outputs.
I have finished A level in Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Chemistry, and wish to help others studying these subjects at any level. Lessons can include teaching or revising methods, going over example questions and help with exam technique, in whichever areas you feel you need to work on.
My teaching is heavily based on solving problems. The quickest and (more importantly) surest route to understanding and proficiency is through practice. I also encourage a visual approach; for both memory and comprehension, visualisation has profound benefits.
I like to approach subjects with concentration on the basics and find ways to relate topics to regular life. With an understanding of fundamentals, I then aim to make things as simple as possible. I interlink topics across subjects and teach with practical examples.
My teaching method is doing past papers together, as well as using other maths resources online. Depending on the students, i have different methods on teaching different students, ensuring they bring out their best potential.
I am an enthusiastic engineering and geography student. I am currently looking for students that are willing to broaden their minds and need help to improve their knowledge of a particular subject. I am seeking students that need improvements in either maths or geography. My teaching method consists of verbal, visual and kinesthetic teaching.
My name is James and I completed my GCSE's fairly disappointed with an A. Since then I have worked hard to study the exam board and the specifications to become a tutor and teach young people the most efficient way to gain the marks needed to achieve the grade they would be aiming for (or higher!).
I love maths and love teaching, so it is a best opportunity to do both at the same time. As school topper in Maths and Science as well as university topper in Mechanics, I think I am the most suitable candidate for the job. Furthermore, I am an engineering researcher who wants to pursue his career in the academics. I always supported teaching STEM subjects to young students.
My teaching methodology is to examine the student first. Its really important to understand where the student currently stands in terms of his/her's maths knowledge. Also identifying student strength and weekness to let them know at which area they are excellent and at which we need to work more.
My method is simple. First of all, I take my time to understand the student's strength and weakness and then take it from there. This enables me to know the best approach applicable as different tutees have unique capabilities, but in the end success is a common factor they all share.
Hi, I'm Alex and I am a Mechanical Engineering student who is providing Maths lessons which cover: Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 (Primary level) Key Stage 3 (Year 7, 8 and 9) Key Stage 4 (GCSE level) I am new to personal tutoring which is why my price is low compared to other tutors, I also offer the first lesson to each student for free because I am confident you will want me to return.
I am always keen to provide individualised and differentiated support for my students that are struggling with learning concepts and mathematical topics, presenting information in a variety of ways, emphasising relevance of class material to the world beyond the classroom.
i did find from my own experience is that people learn things differently and at different paces; when students struggle with a subject, it’s usually because their learning style conflicts with the style or pace with which it is being taught. Tutoring one on one gives the opportunity to learn at the student’s optimal pace.
I am a 23 year old medicine student with a passion for Mathematics. I believe that by breaking up big Maths questions into smaller problems, I can make Maths feel a lot more simple. I want to help you perfect your maths GCSE.
If you have not started to learn this subject, I will teach you patiently with each chapter, make sure you understand all of it. And we will do some exam papers to check. If you just want to learn certain chapter, we can just focus on it and tackle some difficult questions. I also have some Chinese way to do the questions, which may be easier to understand.
With a lot of pressure on school students to do well, it is important to be aware that every student is diverse and tackles challenges in different ways. By taking the time to understand my students’ individual strengths and weaknesses, as well as investigating the best methods for this single student to learn as efficiently as possible, I am able to assist them in obtaining their goal.
I am a 2nd year undergraduate student studying BSc Mathematics at Newcastle University. I am prepared to give 1/2 hours of my time a week to help students studying GCSE and/or A level Mathematics/Further Mathematics with friendly service and clear and understandable ways of putting concepts and explanations across. Lesson plans will be in the hands of the student.
I aproach each topics by delivering the key facts/main points first and then build up on each topic with challenging questions which will require the application of the knowledge learned so that the students fully understand the topic. Additionally, I like to start with the basics and build up the difficulty level to push a students ability.
I am an A-Level student looking to help secondary school students to prepare for GCSEs or any end of module tests in maths. I am a visual learner and I prefer to teach using diagrams and visualisation, alongside practical activities and practice questions.
I am an Oxford University maths graduate and I am giving lessons in maths from GCSE level to A level standard. My lesson structure will consist of teaching the pupil a basic concept, showing them examples, getting them to try problems and then giving them more challenging questions once they get the hang of it.
I prefer explaining things very slowly and believe in deep understanding rather than memorising. I believe every mathematical problem should be understood first before undertaking any action. also I think its a good idea to make this subject fun by allowing the student to taste the joy of solving a problem before giving him something impossible to solve.
- Classes Each session is based on the free assessment carried out initially. The session is 80 minutes long and is made up of one-to-one work with fully qualified and experienced teachers, computer-based work, individual tasks to aid progress, checking and setting homework, exam preparation, individual needs. The session can be dedicated to English or Mathematics or both.
My lessons are directly related to exactly what the examiners want. I teach my pupils what the exam boards require and how to get the top marks in the exam questions. I don't waste time as they do in schools teaching of topic and therefore feeding the students useless information. My methods work and I have had many successful outcomes in my 3 years of tuition.
I am Sophie and I hope to be able to help Primary school pupils whom are facing Sat’s and require assistance. I will teach basic and more advanced mathematics according to the pupils needs. I aspire to do this through activities and problem solving.
I teach through practical, fun and memorable lesson approaches. I ensure that my teaching helps children to not only enjoy learning but to remember everything taught.
I approach a lesson with a focus on the student, taking time and care with topics and methods which they are not so familiar or confident with. I prefer to teach with a mentality of focusing on the skills which exams look for.
I am second year pharmacy student at the University of Sunderland. I am able to tutor high school students of any age of class in chemistry and other related sciences except physics. I offer a well structured and easy mode of learning as I do enjoy that myself.
Provide worked examples to enable understanding going step by step with the student. This will provide knowledge on the technique used to solve the generalised problem, before providing further questions to test the student’s ability to use initiative in providing solutions.
I'm quite a chatty and social person so I find discussion is the best way to overcome difficulties in maths. I like to sit and go through questions one by one with the student so i can explain in detail the areas they are struggling with.
