About Esme
I have loved English throughout my entire education, and am even doing a Master's degree in it now. But, I understand that this is not the same for everyone. It is such a necessary skill for school and life beyond, but sometimes, it's just the case of finding the right person.
It is therefore my aim - and my passion - to make English approachable, doable (and maybe even fun!) for everyone.
With my own exams not far behind me, but also a Literature degree and over 2 years of previous tutoring experience, I am perfectly placed to offer help and support.
I've got all the knowledge, the tips and tricks, but I remember exactly how it all felt, too - and am always warm, friendly, and ready to help.
I have 3 A*s at A-Level, a First-Class BA in English from Durham, and combined five years' experience of tutoring and nannying, where I provided focused learning to a range of ages and confidences.

I cover KS2 - A-Level, offering help with 11+, GCSEs, A-Levels and Functional Skills to all levels of confidence. I am familiar with various exam boards - AQA, Edexcel, OCR etc - and have access to real-time exam board and teacher feedback.
I am warm, compassionate and inspiring, and work hard to make 'big' events like exams become a bit more manageable.
As standard, lessons are 1 hour, but can be tailored depending on individual needs. Likewise, the teaching style and lesson structure is specific to each student's personal learning journey.
But, each lesson begins with structure, then targets relevant skills and exam techniques, and finally provides immediate and actionable feedback - and some things to work on for next time. I'm also all about nurturing confidence, resilience and belief in learning too!
