About Isabella

I am a First Class graduate in Politics and International Relations from the University of Manchester, and recently completed an MA in Philosophy at King’s College London. I currently teach A-Level Politics at a top London sixth form, where I work closely with students following the Edexcel specification. My teaching focuses on helping students develop a clear understanding of political ideas, alongside the essay-writing precision needed to achieve top grades. I take a structured but supportive approach to tutoring, tailoring sessions to each student—whether that means building foundational knowledge, refining argumentation, or improving exam technique. Having worked with A-Level students in the classroom, I understand both the demands of the course and the areas where students most often struggle. My aim is to make Politics feel manageable, coherent, and even enjoyable, while ensuring students are fully prepared for their exams. Lessons are held online and designed to be focused, engaging, and responsive to each student’s needs.

About the lesson

Lessons are structured, focused, and tailored to each student’s specific needs and goals. In our first session, I will assess your current level, identify areas for improvement, and agree on a clear plan—whether that’s building core knowledge, strengthening essay technique, or preparing for upcoming exams. A typical lesson will combine explanation of key political concepts with guided practice. We will work through exam-style questions together, focusing on how to construct clear, well-argued essays that meet the demands of the Edexcel mark scheme. I place particular emphasis on developing strong analytical skills, effective use of examples, and confident evaluation. Where helpful, I provide structured notes, essay plans, and targeted feedback on written work. Students are encouraged to bring school essays or topics they find challenging, so sessions remain directly relevant and high-impact. My aim is not only to improve grades, but to help students feel more confident and in control of the subject. Over time, students develop a clearer understanding of how to approach questions, organise their ideas, and perform under exam conditions.

Really helpful for Politics, especially if you’re struggling with essays. She makes everything a lot clearer and shows you exactly how to improve your answers. I’ve gone from not really knowing what I was doing to feeling much more confident in exams.
