I am a former seventh grade teacher and tenured professor of education specializing in literacy with over twenty years of experience as a writing teacher, editor, writing coach, copy editor, and reading specialist. I have taught all ages, but specialize in working with teens.

I use a Socratic coaching method to work with students on their own writing to produce strong drafts from earlier written work, and analyze existing writing to determine key types and tricks for successful writers. I implement vocabulary strategies and comprehension techniques and online tools. My goal is for all of my students to become clear, concise, rhetorically grounded writers.
